Our debut music video for the song "Tree Eater" from the latest album "We Are The Titan's Rising Ashes".

Filming took place during the night of September 19-20 in the woods, not far from Kyiv. Directed by Alex Katerynchuk.

The idea to shoot a video for the new album’s track has been growing in our thoughts for a long time. Our friend, fellow musician, as well as a wonderful cameraman and director Alex Katerynchuk helped us to implement it. We shared him our ideas and described what we want to get as a result — and the process started. Alex has assembled a team of high level professionals: from the operator, operator assistant, lighting technicians, make-up artist and assistants on set.

We also got help from our friends and family — from organizational issues to physical hard work of moving equipment and props. We would like to express our gratitude to all involved people — thanks, without you this extremely important event would not have happened.

From the beginning, we had a goal to shoot video on nature, the song had to be a dynamic and "groove" ourselves, without annoying. "Tree Eater" perfectly fit that description.The filming process was held for us in one breath, it was a wonderful experience.

In anticipation of the second full-length album "W.A.T.R.A." ("We Are The Titan's Rising Ashes") coming out, Sectorial's musicians told Noizr Zine about their new release, collaboration with Morton Studio, the role of folk instruments in music composing and much more. 

We've worked long three years on this album, invented and reworked the songs

Some tracks have been written on tour with the French band Infest in 2012, others have taken their final form just before the studio sessions.

We chose Max Morton's studio because we were impressed by his work with other musicians

Max offered us a good recording conditions and in the working process he gave a good account of himself not only as an excellent professional, but also as an extremely pleasant man, a real master of his craft. The album tracking has begun in the fall, and its' first step was to record the drums. The guitars, vocals and ethnic instrument parts were the next — so within two months recording session was over.

The whole tracking process proceeded in a pleasant and friendly atmosphere, which had a positive impact on the material's quality

Max gave good advice, we spoke openly what we want from cooperation with him. The result was, in our view, a mature and an "adult" work — "W.A.T.R.A.".

The next action was to work on the material's visual component. The search brought us to another "congenial" man, a wonderful artist Yuri "Xninja" Nagorniy, who perfectly understood the emotional and symbolic "message" of the album, and was able to put it "on a paper".

The ideas and themes of "W.A.T.R.A."

In the theme of this work, we continued the line of man's relationship with the outer world, with nature in particular. It's by nature in all its beauty and diversity we gain inspiration. For us, the constituent part of this is to use in our creative work various ethnic instruments such as the very old (bukkehorn, harp) and more modern (tin whistle, flute chromatic, etc.).

"W.A.T.R.A." comes out on August 10 this year via the Ukrainian label Noizr Productions. We hope you will come to resonance!

Начнем с безграмотности. Да-да, если вы, блин, ориентируетесь на англоязычного слушателя, то хотя бы, на хер, буклеты оформляйте грамотно, или наймите переводчика для корректировки того бреда, что вылазит у вас не только в текстах и благодарностях, но даже в названии альбома, вынесенном, между прочим, на обложку диска! Учитывая же то, что группа украинская и поет на родном языке, вдвойне непонятно наличие у нее английского имени и названия диска. Всё это обидно вдвойне, ибо сам материал заслуживает внимания, как нечто необычное в экстремальной музыке и даже уникальное. Представьте себе фолк-грайнд, да еще с использованием электроники... Да, ребята, это факт: короткие песни Sectorial, основанные на традициях панка и grind core (в духе Napalm Death), обогащены инструментами и мотивами, никак не стыкующимися с вышеупомянутыми жанрами. Посреди грайндирующего напора электрических инструментов мы слышим флейту, жалейку, варган и черт-те какие другие народные инструменты, а вклинивающиеся в голимый брутал мелодии – истинно славянские по духу. Ну, как, например, в треках “Too Much?” (“Забагато?”) и “Stolen World” (“Вкрадений свiт”). Конечно, в очень коротких вещах, занимающих минуту и меньше по времени (а таких тут тоже хватает), этого не замечаешь, поскольку они пролетают, как пули. Однако более протяженные и серьезные треки просто кишат аранжировками в духе каких-нибудь folk/pagan групп. Необычно все же услышать на дэтовом диске пение соловья и шум просыпающегося леса... Того и гляди, на опушке появится пастушок и лениво плетущееся за ним в июльскую жару стадо коров! Но вот именно такова “Before The Silence Come”. Впрочем, и брутальные треки хороши, напористы и точно бьют в цель, а то, на каком языке спевает вокалист, улавливаешь не сразу. Вдруг ощущаешь себя в некой огромной мясорубке или посреди мошпита. Достойна внимания работа гитариста, кроме зверских рифов, извлекающего на свет и невероятно мелодичные соляки (“The New Horizon” и другие). Выше всех похвал и ритм-секция, сбивки, паузы и смены темпа при такой бешеной скорости и краткости треков – просто невероятны. Даже не будь фольклорных вставок и электронных интро, “Erase And Reborn The Humanity” слушался бы нескучно и разнообразно. Отмечу отличный саунд и наиболее вкатившие треки: “Too Much?”, “Why Are You Killing Yourself?”, “Stolen World”, “Flaw of the Law”, “Truth of Life”. SECTORIAL- "Erase And Reborn The Humanity" CD' 2012 

Zespół zaskakuje. Tak, zaskakuje — swoim nowatorskim podejściem do Death Metalu (momentami zahaczającego o Grind). A czym konkretnie? Wyobraźcie sobie blasty, masakrujące riffy, wściekłe wokale — innymi słowy klasyczną rzeźnię, która wylewa się z głośników siejąc śmierć  i  zniszczenie  w  zasięgu rażenia decybelami. Już? To uwaga, nagle- zupełnie niespodziewanie atakują nas dyskretne melodie odgrywane na ... flecie. Normalnie wyśmiałbym takie pomysły, tym razem jednak to nie nastąpi. SECTORIAL bowiem w sposób mistrzowski wkomponował w siebie dwie zupełnie różne historie. Rozbujanej przy blastach głowie nadał pozory "filozoficznej" zadumy, że tak to ujmę. Poza tym roi się tu od różnorodnych temp, wytrawnych solówek i ciekawych aranżacji. To o tyle istotne, że średnia długość kawałków to około 90 sekund! A mamy ich tu aż 23. Takie perełki, jak" Truth Ot Life" można przewijać w kółko, a i cover PHOBIA wyszedł wzorcowo. No cóż — SECTORIAL to kolejny bardzo mocny punkt na scenie Ukraińskiej. (8/10).

Her er nok et album fra Ukraina og Metal Scrap Records som jeg liker. Jeg har fått et helt nytt syn på ukrainsk metal etter de siste ukenes anmeldelser og denne gangen er det et band med navn Sectorial og deres debutskive jeg falt for.

Sectorial ble startet opp i 2000. De var mer et garagelignende band fram til 2007, da ting endret seg og de begynte å gi ut fysiske bevis på sin musikk. 3 EP-er er hva de har klart å få karret ut før debutfullengderen «Erase and Reborn the Humanity» lå på bordet. Stilen er thrash/punk/garagepunk/death/grindcore med meningsfylte tekster.

Ingen av låtene på denne skiva lider skjebnen av å bli kalt kjedelige. Det varieres godt fra låt til låt men likevel henger låtene bra sammen og gjør skiva til en helhet. Det meste av musikk har man nok hørt før, da en god del av riffene er stjælt og endret bittelitt på, men det gjør ikke noe. Det er som en god kokk; så lenge ingen ser deg og så lenge resultatet blir bra, er alt lov.

«Erase and Reborn the Humanity» inneholder hele 23 låter på til sammen nesten tre kvarter. Det er jo for så vidt ganske lenge til grindcore å være, men nå er ikke Sectorial et rent grindcoreband. Sjekk det ut og bli overbevist du også.

Sectorial pochodzi z Ukrainy. Na koncie oprocz opisywanego dlugograja maja jeszcze trzy EPki, ale ich nie slyszalem wiec sie nie odniose. Ciezko jednoznacznie okreslic to, co tworzy Sectorial. Muza jest prosta w konstrukcji i mocna jak grind — czyli takie umpa umpa. Kawalki przewaznie krotkie oscylujace w granicach 2 minut. Jednak brzmieniowo nie do konca mozna ja do tego gatunku zakwalifikowac gdyz sa lzejsze. Do tego chlopaki wykorzystuja dodatkowe instrumenty jak drumla (tego nie jestem pewien) albo okaryna. Efekt jest taki, ze zamiast urozmaicenia mnie osobiscie to wkurwia. Nie mozna jednak zarzucic Sectorial, ze graja zupelne gowno. Na taka ilosc kawalkow jest calkiem sporo konkretnego grzania, ktore potrafi konkretnie potargac czupryne.

After a very spheric intro (“He Who Eats The Tale“) it goes with “Cage With No Limits“ directly off! You can hear here a rather weird mixture of Folk music and Grindcore. Very needs getting used to and nevertheless hard and savage songs which are played extremely fast. Constant fire from the first to the last note! By the variable use of tempi and music styles develop a pretty extraordinary cd which is very innovative and moves far away of any genre cliches. Mixed with some Thrash Metal elements “Erase And Reborn“ receives thereby additional independence and liveliness. Nevertheless the songs contain all of them a dark touch. The cd includes all in all 23 songs which are all pretty short. Very ambitious songs which come across fresh and energetic. SECTORIAL manage it here to present a colourful mixture of styles which is worth to be listened to!!!

JV: I never imagined that grindcore could sound this tasty in Ukraine. I’ve tried many varieties in the past but this one is up there with the best dishes. Usually 23 songs in 44 minutes is too much to digest but these guys know how to make enjoyable songs with all kinds of weird arrangements without losing an inch of brutality. Did I hear a flute in the second track ironically titled “Too Much”?.

This is not your classic muddy grindcore production, the sound is excellent and you can hear all the instruments with complete clarity. These dudes also rip their instruments with rocking solos, neck-breaking riffs and fantabulous speed. I think the weakest link I don’t know why, is the singer, but still, it does the job well.

8/10. Great psychotic album

Averatu: In this case, Sectorial stands for one brutal slam in your stupid face, plus flute. If Nasum where from somewhere in Eastern Europe, and got all folk happy, the result might sound like this. Tighter than constipation, break neck speeds that make me wonder if the drums are not in fact programmed, really well recorded and produced. Even if it’s not all in English, these guys may well become the next grind powerhouse.

8/10 it grinds you down.

Затем, вы начинаете осознавать, что заблудились. Отчаянно пытаясь найти выход из этого жуткого лабиринта, вы начинаете понимать, что всё это время за вами кто-то следит. И этот кто-то — маньяк-психопат, который начинает вас преследовать под угрозой смерти. Вы оказываетесь в западне. «Что же дальше?» – спросите вы. А дальше – полная непредсказуемость и неожиданная развязка событий, ибо на «E.A.R.T.H.» мы сталкиваемся с безумством трэша, молниеносностью дэта и грайндкора, блэковыми запилами, электронными семплами, звуками «живой» природы и языческими вставками, выраженными народными инструментами. Впрочем, у Sectorial свои методы воздействия на землю и окружающую среду.
Хлопцы превосходно пускаются в самые глубины экспериментов и такое впечатление, что на альбоме они используют всё, что под руку попадётся, можно подумать, включая даже жестяные банки-склянки. Причём без ущерба мелодики и целостности композиций, коих на релизе оказалось аж за 20 (включая кавер-версию на американцев Phobia)! Ударная установка просто кипит от запредельно высокой скорости, трек за треком горит ярким пламенем. При всём при этом соблюдена удивительная гармония, прекрасно чутко выстроенная линия всей базы инструментария и зубодробительных партий, нет лишних, но и нет ощущения, что чего-то не хватает. Всё взвешено с поразительной точностью, ну прямо как в аптеке. При всём том хаосе, несомненно, присутствующем на диске, абсолютно всё можно расслышать в отдельности – это очередная положительная фаза «E.A.R.T.H.», так как не всегда удаётся грамотно записать и свести материал. Да и в целом, альбом завален бесчисленными вспышками коротких резких потрясений. И это действительно отличный диск, освежающий на сегодняшний день всю современную экстремальную сцену.
Без упоминания арт-ворка нельзя обойтись. Вслед за гаммой удачно сочетающихся цветов до простого гениальное оформление альбома снабжено различными символами, цитатами и текстами к композициям, причем сразу на двух языках – родном и английском, то есть был специально сделан перевод. Это похвально. Релиз предоставлен Metal Scrap Records.

Украинский ВИА Sectorial начинает свой дебютный полноформат “Erase and Reborn the Humanity” хорошим грайндкором в духе классиков, вроде Napalm Death или Lock Up. Качественно исполненный и записанный, этот материал мог бы подарить немало приятных минут любителям поугорать по хардкору. Но вот беда: всю малину испортил какой-то на дуде игрец, оскорбляющий слух настоящих суровых коровяков нетрадиционными элементами. 
Другое дело – ненастоящие коровяки. Этим материал должен прийтись по душе своей отвязной разнообразностью. Дело в том, что валящий с ног дэт-грайнд ребята заправляют звонкими партиями флейты и нагоняющим холоду треньканьем варгана, так что получается задорный и даже красивый фолк-метал. Кроме того, валево разбавлено зажигательными рок-н-ролльными солягами, которые недвусмысленно дают понять: Sectorial – это несерьёзная банда. Музыканты понимают толк в дуракавалянии и разгильдяйском угаре. 
В то же время, к исполнению фолковых частей коллектив относится со всей ответственностью, в результате чего слушатель может насладиться действительно качественным и продуманным, но не задушенным продуманностью материалом. Вы не устанете крутить головой, и не утомитесь до зевоты от спокойных кусков, ибо этот альбом действительно свеж. 
Эклектика – вот выбор этих коровяков. Их лепёшка получилась неоднородной по консистенции, но очень ароматной. Неповторимый, сверхустойчивый вкус, ребята! Я считаю, что это успех.

Новая рубрика «Блиц» набирает обороты. Вашему вниманию предлагаются ответы пяти групп на одни и те же вопросы. Все группы организованно ответили на наши вопросы при содействии лейбла Metal scrap records, за что мы и выражаем ему благодарность.

НАЗВАНИЕ — ЭТО ВИЗИТНАЯ КАРТОЧКА ГРУППЫ. ЧТО ОНО ДОЛЖНО ПОДЧЕРКИВАТЬ? ИДЕЮ, СТИЛЬ ИЛИ ПРОСТО БЫТЬ БРОСКИМ И НИЧЕГО НЕ ЗНАЧАЩИМ? ЧЕМ ВАМ ПРИГЛЯНУЛОСЬ НАЗВАНИЕ ВАШЕЙ ГРУППЫ?

Tarantulo — мы считаем, что название не должно нести какую-либо идею или подчеркивать стиль... Но это наше мнение, так как в нашей музыке нет какой-то постоянной идеи и мы не придерживаемся одного стиля. Скорее всего, название должно быть легкозапоминающимся и броским. Наше название, в принципе не имеет никакого смысла, так как слова TARANTULO не существует. Пусть это будет имя собственное.

Sectorial — Мы считаем, что название коллектива должно нести смысл и о чём- то говорить слушателю, который не знаком с данным коллективом. Относительно нас, скажем, что название пришло в голову спонтанно и максимально чётким образом очерчивает всё, что мы производим вместе. Нас четверо, все мы абсолютно разные люди и когда взаимодействуем, из четырех частей мы создаём  то, что является нашим общим, целостностным выбором, мнением и решением. SECTORIAL — часть, мир, составляющий элемент Вселенной. От микро- до макрокосмоса — всё состоит в определённом порядке из миров различной сложности. Человек, наряду с его окружением, является лишь инструментом, проявлением Абсолюта, но никак не «венцом природы». Мы считаем, что человечеству, в лице каждого из нас, есть над чем работать как в духовном так и в материальном плане. Подробности, в текстах наших песен.

Gross Grolland — С ваших слов записано верно: название — это визитная карточка группы. Оно должно подчёркивать: идею, стиль и просто быть броским и ничего не значащим. (В нашем случае так и есть)

Druknroll — Ужас: Быть броским и значить многое, а группу не я называл.

Druknroll: Конечно, название связано с понятием ROCK-N-ROLL, но тут, скорее, понятие ROCK немного иного плана.

Perishing humanity — В нашем случае название, в первую очередь, медицинская карточка, а визитка позже. PERISHING HUMANITY — некий штрихпунктир рецидивов общественных патологий. Исследуя причины вышеупомянутых недугов, оно наиболее удачно подмигнуло нам в видоискатель диагностирующего зонда.

ВСЕ БОЛЬШЕЕ РАЗВИТИЕ, В НАШИХ СТРАНАХ, ПОЛУЧАЮТ РАЗЛИЧНЫЕ БУКИНГОВЫЕ АГЕНТСТВА, КОТОРЫЕ ВЫВОЗЯТ НАШИ ГРУППЫ ЗА ГРАНИЦУ, УСТРАИВАЯ ИМ ТУРЫ. ЧТО ВАЖНЕЕ ДЛЯ ВАШЕЙ ГРУППЫ: ПОТРАТИТЬ СРЕДСТВА НА КАЧЕСТВЕННУЮ ЗАПИСЬ АЛЬБОМА В СТУДИИ С ХОРОШИМ ИМЕНЕМ, ИЛИ ПОТРАТИТЬ ЭТИ ЖЕ СРЕДСТВА НА ПОЕЗДКУ В ТУР? ЧТО ПРИВЛЕЧЕТ БОЛЬШЕ ВНИМАНИЯ К ГРУППЕ?

Тагапtulо — мы находим компромисс в таких вещах! Мы никогда не отказываемся ехать в тур, если предоставляется такая возможность. А запись альбома — это подведение итогов определенного периода в творчестве. Хочешь — не хочешь, но альбомы нужно записывать, и не обязательно это делать на студии с «именем», достаточно, чтобы нас самих все устраивало, и не важно на студии это происходит или дома. А вообще мы стараемся как можно больше выступать. На наш взгляд это самый верный путь привлечь внимание. В нашей музыке присутствует энергия, которую лучше всего почувствовать на концертах, нежели в плеере.

Sectorial — Оба метода необходимы. И качественная промо-кампания на этих пунктах не заканчивается. В тур без записей  ехать можно, но и зачем только записываться не выступая. Часто встречаются случаи, когда слушаешь на записи — парни вполне солидно нажимают. Встречаешься на концерте и всё становиться на свои места.

Gross Grolland — Букинговые агентства? Что ж, мы не против сотрудничать. А пока, мы займёмся качественной записью альбома на студии с хорошим именем. Что привлечет больше внимания к группе!

Druknroll — Ужас: Запись на хорошей студии — это, конечно, хорошо, но, на мой взгляд, нет ничего лучше живого выступления. Только на концерте можно прочувствовать всю силу нашей музыки и весь заложенный в нее драйв!

Jester: Вообще, хорошо и то, и то, хотя, лично для меня, живые выступления важнее. Запись можно опочить, вылизать, отредактировать, как угодно, а выступая вживую ты, фактически, выносишь свою группу на суд зрителей. И либо тебя ждет признание и успех, либо провал. Смотря как себя показать.

Druknroll: Без хорошей записи результата не достигнуть, т.к. сначала ты слушаешь запись группы, а потом идешь на ее концерт.

Perishing humanity — Это спицы одной колесницы. Без офигенного и правильно записанного альбома, в тур, тем более за границу, ехать не имеет смысла. Качество тура напрямую зависит от качества опуса группы.

КОМУ ВЫ ДОВЕРИЛИ ОСУЩЕСТВЛЕНИЕ ЗАПИСИ И САУНД-ПРОДЮССИРОВАНИЕ?

Tarantulo — Запись нашего альбома мы доверили очень талантливому человеку, который к тому же и сам замечательный музыкант — это Павел Кардаков (студия Naked Sound). Он сделал все от начала до конца. С ним очень удобно работать, мы без проблем нашли общий язык.

Sectorial — Диск, в поддержку которого мы сейчас ездим, был записан на киевской студии BlackLight Rec. Там же и занимались сведением и мастерингом. Работу Шадара мы знаем, и в этот раз тоже решили доверить диск ему.

Gross Grolland — Ну, с этим нам повезло!!! Наш продюсер, являясь ранее гитаристом GROSS GROLLAND, в теме до мозга костей, ушей... в общем, один организм. Хоть и на расстоянии. Саундпродюссирование — это его работа, которую он делает хорошо! И вот, через какое-то время, мы уже рвём и мечем!

Druknroll — Jester: У нас свой собственный звукорежиссер, которому мы полностью доверяем. Это Леша Книп. Он хоть и молодой, но мозги у него в нужном направлении работают. Он лучший из тех, с кем нам приходилось работать, однозначно лучший.

  Druknroll: Он не только лучший

звукорежиссер, но и отличныи музыкант, виртуозно владеющий гитарой.

Perishing humanity — Записью курировал наш гитарист Евгений. Решили, что никто лучше не нарисует звуковую картину чем непосредственно автор идеи и музыки коллектива.

ПРИ ФОРМИРОВАНИИ ВАШЕЙ ГРУППЫ, БЫЛА ЛИ ПОСТАВЛЕНА ЦЕЛЬ ЕЁ СУЩЕСТВОВАНИЯ? ДЛЯ  ЧЕГО СУЩЕСТВУЕТ ВАША ГРУППА?

Tarantulo — Формирование TARANTULO происходило с достаточно четкой целью. На тот момент каждый из  нас уже имел опыт игры в других группах. В TARANTULO все пришли со свежими мыслями и желанием играть настоящий метал, такой, каким мы сами его представляем. Мы не собирались следовать модным течениям этого направления. Ну и такие мысли как «я металлист, потому что это круто» и т.п. остались в прошлом.

Sectorial — Цели у каждого свои. Общая цель состоит из многих составляющих. Некоторые, как например, концерты, да и вообще околомузыкальное времяпровождение, пропаганда здорового образа жизни и мышления среди молодёжи, достигаются в процессе и никогда не смогут дойти до конечной точки. Некоторые, пока не стоит озвучивать.

Gross Grolland — Нам нравится играть трэш, и мы будем это делать!

Druknroll — Ужас: Группа существует, в  первую очередь, как реализация нас самих, а потом уже все остальное.

Druknroll: Конечно, реализация наших амбиций — основной двигатель нашей группы.

Perishing humanity — Конечно, существование мы держали на мушке прицела, не говорить о формировании группы весьма преждевременно. Процесс и поныне не утратил огонек актуальности. Процесс весьма не простой и упрямо перманентный. Основной целью экзистенции группы является процесс обеспечения функций ее жизнедеятельности. Конечно, можно говорить о сверхзадачах, но об этом в следующем выпуске.

ЧТО ПЕРВИЧНО ДЛЯ ВАШЕЙ ГРУППЫ, ТЕКСТ ИЛИ МУЗЫКА? НАСКОЛЬКО ТЕКСТ, ВООБЩЕ, ВАЖЕН В МЕТАЛЛИЧЕСКОЙ МУЗЫКЕ? РАССКАЖИТЕ ОБ ИДЕЙНОМ НАПОЛНЕНИИ ВАШИХ ПЕСЕН, ЧТО ВЫ ХОТИТЕ В НИХ ДОНЕСТИ СЛУШАТЕЛЮ?

Tarantulo — в нашей музыке первичен драйв, а то с помощью чего он получается, каждый решает для себя сам. Мы уделяем сначала большое внимание написанию музыки, а затем не меньше занимаемся текстами. В наших текстах мы говорим о разных злободневных жизненных проблемах. Часто затрагиваем различные проявления насилия и несправедливости. В общем, мы пишем о жизни.

Sectorial — нет чёткого ответа. Иногда сначала музыка, потом текст. Иногда сначала впечатление, потом текст потом музыка. Но всегда первой есть идея. Наши тексты тесно переплетены с концепцией нашего творчества, симбиоз социальной и природной тем, идея гармоничного развития человека. О важности текстовой составляющей в метале спрашивать стоит не у нас. Для нас важно, для других нет. У каждого свой путь и цели.

Gross Grolland — Идея! В первую очередь должна быть идея!

Druknroll — Ужас: Для нашей группы первично все... и текст и музыка! Песня должна тронуть не только слух..., но и сердце, и душу человека!

Jester: Ну, вообще, по-разному. Чаще всего, музыка появляется раньше, потом пишется текст. А иногда уже существует готовый текст, который внезапно подходит под разрабатывающуюся песню. Поскольку создание лирики и музыки идет параллельно, то текстами озадачиваемся уже на раннем этапе.

Perishing humanity — Текст важен. Важен на столько, на сколько он может называться текстом, но в металлической музыке все иначе. Для успешного воплощения тембральных задумок, вокалисту просто необходимо наличие артикуляционных скороговорок. Нашему ансамблю первичен слушатель, остальное — средства коммуникации с ним, условия диалога. За сакральным смыслом вербального наполнения, предпочтительней обратиться к исполнителям авторской песни.

ОБРАЗЫ, КОТОРЫМИ НАПИТАНА ВАША ЛИРИКА, ИЛЛЮСТРИРУЮТ РЕАЛЬНЫЕ СОБЫТИЯ ИЛИ ЯВЛЯЮТСЯ ИСКЛЮЧИТЕЛЬНО ДЕТИЩЕМ ХУДОЖЕСТВЕННОГО ЗАМЫСЛА?

Tarantulo — мы уже говорили, что пишем о жизни. поэтому все в наших песнях в той или иной степени имеет реальное лицо.

Sectorial — Абсолютно реальные. То, что мы видим, слышим, так или иначе принимаем в этом участие — всё находит отображение в наших песнях. Художественные и вымышленные темы мы оставили для фантазёров.

Gross Grolland — Непременно детищем! Замысловатого художества!

Druknroll — Ужас: Художественный замыслы есть во всем, но и реальность присутствует практически в каждой песне.

Druknroll: Сама «реальность» представлена в композиции «5 Секунд».

Perishing humanity  — В творчестве, порой трудно отличить вымысел от были. И то и другое обречено на художественность. То, что напитывает нас при создании того или иного сюжета, является квинтэссенцией внутренних переживании и индивидуального опыта.

ВОПРОС ОБ ОФОРМЛЕНИИ ПЛАСТИНКИ. КОНЦЕПТ АРТ-ВОРКА ЯВЛЯЕТСЯ, ИСКЛЮЧИТЕЛЬНО, АВТОРСКОЙ РАЗРАБОТКОЙ ДИЗАЙНЕРА ИЛИ ОН РЕАЛИЗОВЫВАЛ ПРЕДЛОЖЕННУЮ ВАМИ ИДЕЮ?

Tarantulo — вся идея оформления до последней точки принадлежит нам. Наш дизайнер очень четко уловил наш замысел и передал его на 100%, за что ему огромное спасибо!

Sectorial — Дизайнер альбома наш хороший товарищ. Мы вместе вынашивали идею, перепробовали множество вариантов и сошлись на одной. Мы вместе оговорили, что хотим видеть, в итоге он со своим пониманием наших образов выразил это «на холсте». Отлично когда твою музыку понимают так, как понимаешь её ты. Это значит, что мы идём верным путём.

Gross Grolland — Концепт является исключительно авторской разработкой дизайнера.

Druknroll — Jester: Ну, вообще, оформление мы делали сами. Просто первичный эскиз нас не устроил, и мы стали искать другие варианты, отталкиваясь от уже утвержденного названия «На лезвии ножа». Внезапно, пришла идея с девушкой с мечом, поскольку «нож» и «меч» близкие понятия. Моя подруга — модельер, и у нее как раз была коллекция, посвященная самураям, и то, что вы видите на обложке, как раз ее творение. Собственно, эта коллекция была одним из первых вариантов нового артворка — так и утвердилось. Оставалось дело за малым — провести фотосет. Правда, поскольку сроки поджимали, все делалось немного спонтанно, еще и пришлось, в последний момент, менять фотографа, а сам фотосет проходил весело — на ветру и в холод. Но, кажется, получилось неплохо.

Perishing humanity — Идея складывалась банально в ходе внутригруппового напряжения. Лепта креатива непосильным грузом помазала всех членов созидательной оргии. Далее, вожжи претворения в жизнь были торжественно переданы искусному мастеру-иконописцу Вячеславу Nurgeslag Смишко. Ему-то и обязаны картинкой.

А КАКАЯ ИДЕЯ, ИЛИ СМЫСЛ, СКРЫТЫ В НАЗВАНИИ АЛЬБОМА?

Tarantulo — очень простая: это наш дебютный альбом и мы не задумываясь назвали его TARANTULO, как и многие уже известные музыканты. Опять же повторюсь, что темы песен очень разные и сложно было придумать название, которое бы охватывало весь альбом. Можно было бы назвать абстрактно, как в свое время BLACK SABBATH назвали песню Paranoid, но мы решили, что лучше уж так.

Sectorial — В этом альбоме затронуты как взаимоотношения человека с природой, так и людей между собой. Решено было назвать его в честь одной из секториалов, стихии Земля. Название «Erase And Reborn The Humanity» произошло из него и символизирует призыв к новой жизни, перерождению старого в новый, качественный этап бытия.

Gross Grolland — Название нашего альбома — игра слов, но, по смыслу и характеру, точно передаёт нужное настроение.

Druknroll — Ужас: Название символизирует грань между нормальной жизнью и безумием, сумасшествием, которое проникает в нашу жизнь незаметно. Как раз та грань, которая разделяет человека, как человека, и человека, как зверя. Иногда приходится на ней балансировать.

Druknroll: Да, играя тяжеляк, скорее проявляются звериные чувства.

Perishing humanity — Большинство идей ложны, а смысл, не редко, продукт лицемерия. Мы возвели на пьедестал эти нравственные категории в качестве душевного протокола продуктов распада метаболизирующего общества.

НЕ СЕКРЕТ, ЧТО БОЛЬШИНСТВО ГРУПП ТОЛЬКО СОБРАВШИСЬ, СРАЗУ ПЫТАЮТСЯ ВСЕМИ СИЛАМИ ПРОЛЕЗТЬ НА СЦЕНУ. ДАЖЕ НЕ ОТТОЧИВ СВОЙ МАТЕРИАЛ. В РЕЗУЛЬТАТЕ, ПРИ СОДЕЙСТВИИ НЕ ОЧЕНЬ КАЧЕСТВЕННОЙ АППАРАТУРЫ НА КОНЦЕРТАХ, СЛУШАТЕЛЬ ПОЛУЧАЕТ ОЧЕРЕДНОЙ "РАК УШЕЙ". КАК ВЫ СЧИТАЕТЕ, КОГДА ГРУППА СТАНОВИТСЯ ГОТОВА ДЛЯ ЖИВЫХ ВЫСТУПЛЕНИЙ, КАКИЕ ЭТАПЫ ОНА ДОЛЖНА ПРОЙТИ?

Tarantulo — все зависит от отношения самих музыкантов к своей музыке. Самое главное, это, конечно, сыгранность музыкантов между собой, а так же четкая ритм-секция. Всегда будут группы, которые торопятся на сцену, ведь это очень круто, но результат не всегда оправдывает ожидания. Мы сами много работаем над своей техникой, и подходим к этому достаточно самокритично.

Sectorial — Так и есть, увы в СНГ большинство команд на своём пути к «звёздности» забывают или не уделяют должного внимания технике игры и звукоизвлечения. Это обусловлено многими, в том числе и культурными особенностями пост- совкового пространства. Что должно случится, чтобы эта схема сломалась? Да Армагеддон наверняка. Увы, технологии позволяют на записи скрыть своё истинное «мастерство», но на концертах сразу становится ясно — кто есть кто. Так как мы являемся больше концертным коллективом, и музон наш лучше воспринимается «живьём», мы делаем ставку на концерты. Многие организаторы нас знают как группу, которая возит с собой всё — от барабанов и гитарных кабинетов до различных коммутационных проводов. Записанный диск является учебной попыткой передать энергетику концертов незнакомому слушателю и напомнить фанам о наших выступлениях.

Gross Grolland — Опытные сыгранные музыканты — хороший трэш! Плохие — рак ушей!

Druknroll — Jester: Ну, тут ничего не заменит опыт, потому надо чаще играть и постоянно работать над собой. Причем, я имею в виду не только репетиции, но и выступления на публике и общение с другими музыкантами. И лезть на сцену надо, но постепенно. Я сам видел, как группы на репетициях вроде бы неплохо играют, вроде бы свободно двигаются, а на сцене моментально теряются и немеют, и получается лажа. Боязнь сцены надо искоренять любыми доступными способами, начиная, хотя бы, с небольших выступлений для друзей и друзей друзей. Кроме того, не надо бояться признавать свои ошибки. Если тебе, после концерта, говорят, где у тебя что не так — не нужно воспринимать это, как оскорбление — это тоже опыт. И необходимо знать свое место. Плохо, когда совсем зеленые юнцы после трех репетиций объявляют себя рок-богами и, за деньги родителей, покупают разогрев у какой-нибудь известной приезжей команды, «чтобы народ увидел, где звезды у нас в городе». Такое тоже наблюдал.

Perishing humanity — В онкологии и отоларингологии участия доныне не принимали, посему, говорить о раках попробуем отвлеченно. В условиях нашего государства, мы считаем, готовность становления группы определяется двумя этапами: 1) Барвы (клуб в Киеве для андеграунда); 2) МХМ(Фестиваль в Крыму высокого уровня). Промежуточные — корригирующими не являются. Посему позволим их опустить.

ЧТО, ПО ВАШЕМУ МНЕНИЮ, ДОЛЖЕН ДЕЛАТЬ ЛЕЙБЛ, ДЛЯ ПОДПИСАННОЙ У НЕГО ГРУППЫ? ЧТО ДОЛЖЕН ПРЕДОСТАВИТЬ, ЧЕМ ПОМОЧЬ ГРУППЕ?

Tarantulo — Лейбл — это прежде всего «выход в свет». Лейбл нас издает и распространяет, тем самым делая нам очень серьезную рекламу, а это очень серьезный фундамент в творчестве.

Sectorial — Никто никому ничего не должен. Если группа знает, чего она хочет и искренне желает этого, предпринимая определённые шаги — она это получит. Лэйбл может только помочь в этом. Это может быть промо, интернет PR, всевозможные интервью и обзоры. Поэтому тем группам, кто думает, что за вас что-то сделают сами мы говорим спасибо, что не захламляете рынок своим творчеством, оставайтесь сидеть в заднице дальше.

Gross Grolland — Лейбл должен иметь хорошую репутацию. И помочь группе найти наибольшее количество слушателей. Ну и, туры,концерты,конечно!

Druknroll — Jester: Лейбл должен всегда помогать своим подопечным. Если не финансово, то, хотя бы, в плане рекламы, организации концертов, нужных знакомств и всего такого. На Западе, обычно, группа пишет своими силами только демо, а полноценная запись финансируется уже лейблом или спонсорами, которые заинтересованы в хорошем продукте. У нас такое невозможно, и лейблы занимаются только изданием уже готового записанного материала. Плохо, когда группа потратит много времени, сил и денег на альбом, а лейбл говорит — некогда вами заниматься, мы вас издадим, а диски продавайте сами. Это неправильно, иначе не будет взаимовыручки. Сейчас все кричат, что продажи падают, делать диски нерентабельно и все такое. Да все рентабельно, было бы желание продвигать товар. У нас много талантливых групп, просто о них никто не знает.

Druknroll: В этом плане мы очень благодарны нашему лейблу Metal Scrap Records не только за издание, но именно за продвижение нашей музыки в массы.

Perishing humanity — Обычно, для группы, лейбл делает диски, а точнее только некоторую часть от общего тиража. Не редко, он пользуется правом размещения своего логотипа на задней страничке Думаю, мы весьма полно исчерпали о том, что должен предоставить лейбл, теперь — о помочь. Помощь группе необходимо рассматривать в комплексе обоюдного продвижения.

Tarantulo — Наш слушатель — это скорее молодое поколение до 30-ти, но это в основном, а вообще много кто нас слушает. Как говорит статистика посещаемости нашей группы в соц. сетях, нами интересуются девушки до 24 и парни от 18 до 27. Если честно мы не задавались целью направить нашу музыку на какую- либо аудиторию.

Sectorial — Целевая аудитория нашего творчество это конечно же молодые горячие парни и девушки. Те, кто не сидит на месте, ищет или уже нашёл в себе твёрдую основу, готов и действует в сторону саморазвития. Мы стараемся зажечь в людях искру, дать им энергетический пинок. Чтобы однажды утром, проснувшись ты понял — Я всё могу!

Gross Grolland — Слушатель у нас есть! Подавляющий процент — это люди лет 20- 25.

Druknroll — Ужас: Слушатель, на самом деле, разнообразен! Начиная с байкеров и коллег по муз-цеху, и заканчивая совершенно посторонними людьми, которые пишут благодарственные отзывы и письма в адрес нашей группы!

Tarantulo — в нашем городе  если приходит 50 человек, значит вечер удался. А вообще, если слушателей хоть немного больше, чем самих музыкантов, выступающих на концерте, то уже понимаешь, что все это не зря!

Sectorial — Прежде всего, мы играем для себя. Те, кто считают, что концерт может быть провальным — они не берут во внимание заработанный опыт. Мы всегда чему-то учимся. Другое дело видим мы это или нет. Если со стороны организатора наши условия выполнены, а народ не пришёл — ну что ж, это была выездная репетиция. Теперь стоит думать о том, как этого избежать в дальнейшем.

Gross Grolland — Всё зависит от заведения, если это не большой клуб, то 100 чел. бывает достаточно. А если стадион, то прикидывайте сами.

Druknroll — Ужас: Количество слушателей на концерте принципиальной роли не играет, даже если в зале будут стоять только музыканты групп, с которыми играешь в этот раз. Главное, показать себя, на что ты способен. Можно выложиться на сто процентов перед 20 зрителями, и они навсегда станут твоими фанатами, а можно вяло отыграть перед полным залом, и на другой день тебя забудут. Если пришло мало людей, я не посчитаю это провалом. Наоборот, мы постараемся так отыграть, чтобы эти люди потом показывали пальцем на тех, кто не пришел, и говорили — чувак, ты такое пропустил.

Perishing humanity — Один. Но, даже если сложиться такая превосходная ситуация, этот интересующийся станет в ряды нашей армии пассивных пацифистов.

Tarantulo — возможно столичным группам и легче, но это не самое главное. Если есть желание, то и так все получится, не меняя места обитания. К тому же, в последнее времяпросыпается интерес к группам из глубинки. И опять же жома, на наш взгляд комфортнее работать.

Sectorial — Нет разницы. Большинство столичных команд вскоре распадаются. Так как фундамента у группы нет и ребята там собираются просто поиграть. Если ставить реальные цели и во что бы то ни стало их штурмовать — твоё место рождения и проживания не имеет значения.

Grass Grolland — Если твой материал бледен и не интересен, то и на периферии внимание к тебе будет слабым, а может, не будет вообще.

Druknroll — Ужас: Столица — это вообще отдельный разговор!

Jester: В столице и так полно хороших групп, если туда ехать, то максимум можно стать «еще одной». Так, что лучше стать кем-то значимым у себя дома. К тому же, хорошие провинциальные группы пользуются интересом в столице, как диковинка.

Druknroll: В плане концертов- легче, а в плане издания материала — одинаково, так как все во власти интернета.

Perishing humanity — Значение имеют все факторы, формирующие ментальность членов рок формации и других творческих объединений. Государство, двор, первая учительница, вкус бабушкиного киселя — в той или иной степени определяют сознание и созидают характер индивидуума. На счет представителей столиц и мегаполисов скажем так — по Сеньке шапка. Стремления каждого почти всегда имеют долю исключительности: кому-то для друзей сбацать — вершина, а кого-то и вакеном не удивишь. Популярным артистом, в любом случае, быть хорошо, не зависимости от локации. Уровень известности соответствует конкурентоспособности группы. Логично допустить, что в столице условия жестче, но и возможности шире.

Tarantulo — на самом деле, причина конечно же другая. А вообще, 250 рублей (около 60 гривен) — мы бы не назвали непомерной стоимостью.

Sectorial — Непомерная стоимость? Впервые слышим. Непомерная стоимость это 1,5 доллара за пачку сигарет. Это да — 1,5 бакса за яд для себя это много. Нужно сделать яд доступней, чтобы все кто хочет умереть сделали это быстрее. Главный фактор, который влияет на продажу дисков это интернет-пиратство. Многие даже не имеют аппаратуры для прослушивания компакт-дисков. Такие реалии, с этим ничего не сделаешь. Покупка диска это скорей фетиш, личное признание группы. Зачем покупать диск, если можно бесплатно скачать его. Бумажный артворк, коробочка, сам диск это уже коллекционные вещи.

Gross Grolland — Альбом должен быть доступным всем слоям населения. Главное — доступность, а не нажива.

Druknroll — Jester: Столько, сколько люди могут заплатить за него. Можно задрать цены до небес, типа «новый альбом супер-пупер группы оттуда-то», а можно поставить очень демократичный ценник и продать весь тираж за неделю. Мы не ставим своей целью наживу, главное, чтобы люди могли себе позволить наше творчество, если они того хотят.

Druknroll: Диск должен быть доступным, а это зависит от тиража.

Данная рецензия будет короткой, как треки группы Sectorial, которых на 45 минут набралось аж 23! Что. в принципе, свойственно стилю. Хотя назвать этот релиз просто грайндом язык не поворачивается. В альбоме намешано безумное количество других стилей, порой ставящих в ступор. Например, присутствие флейты. Из менее удивляющих — хардкор, дэт, треш, блэк... Все тексты написаны на украинском, что уже вызывает уважение и интерес. Ещё больший интерес вызывает тематика — злободневные темы относительно губительного влияния человечества на природу и планету в целом. Чего не часто встретишь на грайндкор сцене, специализирующейся на проблемах другого масштаба и характера, как правило. Альбом же вышел быстрым, напористым, концептуальным. Очень зрелая, качественная работа!

This Ukrainian band has a rather strange but effective blend of thrash and grind, coupled to native instrumentation as the band refers to it. A sci-fi electronic start fools you before the rampant racket of "Cage With No Limits" is ferociously unleashed onto the listener with the snare blast residing in Leng T'che territory and the riffs pulverising the moshing backyard of someone like Gama Bomb. Occasional references to Deicide step into the fold as "Too Much?" displays the so called native instrumentation in full piping glorified bastardisation. The violence of the riffing is bolstered by straight double kick and a gravity roll blasting which seems to alternate with the normal hand blast technique, well to my ears anyway.

I cannot emphasise how riveting some of the riffs are on here as Sectorial prefer to pepper the listener with a myriad of styles against a backdrop of feral savagery in the rhythm section. Within the confines of grind Sectorial take their cue from the likes of Wormrot, Insect Warfare and modern day Napalm Death though I'd say the sound here is not as rich or unforgiving as those outfits, though it's not built on fluffy pillows either. I adored the riff to "Internal Enemy" with its intense beating being highly infectious akin to Incantation before the insane blast transforms the tune to anarchic bedlam. Following very closely indeed is "Why Are You Killing Yourself?" again ingrained with a cracking sense of melody utilising a groove and blast strategy for maximum carnage. The riffs are here, there and bloody everywhere it seems as at times I detected a bit of Hateplow due to the hybridisation of death and grind.  "Stolen World" is truly immense with its unbelievable catchy riff and even with the weird instruments added to it work in a perverse sense.

With 23 tunes driving an aural nailgun into your cranium the band straddles a fine line between incessant cacophony and sheer brilliance  as just when you thought nothing new could appear in the scene here come Sectorial testing the boundaries for both thrashers and grinders.

 Дебютный альбом этой украинской команды однозначно охарактеризовать никак не получится. С первых же секунд, как только диск попадает в руки, он не перестаёт удивлять. А уж стоит поставить его в проигрыватель,и...но обо всем по порядку. Начнём с визуальной части. Думаю, со мной согласятся те, кто уже держал этот релиз у себя в руках, что всё его оформление — от обложки и до буклета, ну уж никак не похоже грайнд или смежные, брутальные стили. 
 
 Собственно, на обложке, выполненной в довольно светлых тонах, нас встречает лес, озаряющийся северными сиянием. Открываем буклет — а там помимо текстов мы найдём ещё и фигурки животных, которые изображали на стенах своих пещер первобытные люди. Ими окаймована каждая страница. Сам же диск украшен большой механической шестерёнкой (частью логотипа группы), а чуть выше, змеёй, кусающей себя за хвост. Согласитесь, довольно говорящий символ. Ну а если познакомиться ещё ближе с творческой составляющей команды (посредством прочтения текстов, например), то всё само собой становится ясным и все ненужные вопросы сразу отпадают. 
 
 Что же касается музыки...стиль этой группы обозначить довольно сложно, поэтому, можно сказать, что на различных сайтах он определяется весьма условно. Да, музыка с упором на грайнд, но одновременно в ней присутствует столько различных музыкальных элементов и влияний, что обозвать это всё одним-двумя словами просто невозможно. Поначалу, увидев, что диск содержит 23 трека, слегка удивляешься, но вспомнив грайнд-основу команды всё вновь становится на свои места. Первый трек- эмбиентный. Далее следует шквал гитар, очень мощное рубилово, просто таки бензопильный чёс по ушам слушателей. Музыка довольно энергичная и бодрая. В некоторых песнях присутствуют различные фолк-инструменты, а некоторый треки кажутся ну почти чистым пэган блэком в лучших традициях знаменитых соотечественников (Stolen World, например). Под конец прослушивания, от такого шквала и напора понемногу начинаешь уставать, но после Outro нас ждёт парочка заводных треков, да таких, что открывается второе дыхание! 
 
 Релиз рекомендован к прослушиванию всем любителям необычной, неформатной музыки даже в рамках экстремальных жанров.

Ну ни хрена ж себе! Двадцать три вещи на сорок четыре минуты! Вот будет сейчас заруба!
Ну? И что я говорил? Понеслись родимые вскачь, не успеваю даже отследить, когда один трек другим сменяется. Но при этом ещё флейту фолковую и варган успели в одну вещицу запихать, поганцы! Ну ясен пень, это же неимоверно длинный эпик на 03:38! А какая атмосфера тут! Просто шик! Напомнила земляков этих хлопцев, так любимых мною NokturnalMortum. И вообще, не смотря на всё, грайнда вы тут не найдёте, так что всякие порно-гор-маньяки могут разочарованно вздохнуть и разойтись. А вот что тут есть, так это стремительный, забойный дэт, смешанный с блэком и паганом. Смесь, в общем-то, не сказать чтобы уж очень оригинальная, но играть такую музыку на столь малых отрезках времени, кажется, ещё ни кто не пробовал. В прочем, я могу и ошибаться, но сути это не меняет — я удивлён! Более того, я удивляюсь всё больше и больше, по мере прослушивания этого диска. Восьмая вещь вовсе представляет из себя звуки природы. Каково? Три минуты птичьего щебетания. Но в нирвану вам впасть не удастся, скорее в кому, так как следующая композиция самая что ни на есть метальная и несётся вперёд, как болид формулы-1. Ударные выдают запредельные по скорости дроби, куда там какому ни будь MG-42? Но это я уже про следующую вещь, потому что, пока я это писал, музыканты унеслись далеко вперёд. Но к предыдущей описание тоже относится, как и к последующей. Хе-хе. А мне нравится эта гонка, чёрт возьми! Как на концерте башкой трясти под этакое залихватское мочилово, я не представляю, но слушается бодро. Да они ещё и гитарные соляки умудряются сюда впихивать? Вообще улёт! Жгите парни!
И ещё одно. Хоть названия композиций написаны на английском, но спеты они на вполне себе украинском. В буклете, к стати, все тексты дублируются на двух языках. Так что, если Вы разумеете украинску мовь, то сможете в полной мере и лирику оценить. Довольно серьёзную, надо сказать. Ни какой хохмы тут нет, не смотря на такой необычный, грайндкорообразный формат композиций. Слушайте и наслаждайтесь!

Что общего может быть между сопилкой, варганом, обертоновой флейтой, тин-вистлом, а также ломовым crossover/thrash metal в духе THE ACCCUSED и D.R.I., в сочетании с элементами краст-панка, характерными для классиков death/grind типа NAPALM DEATH и REPULSION? Да, и не забудьте, что этот аппетитный фарш, будоражащий воображение музыкального гурмана, также содержит великолепную приправу в виде лирики, являющейся нетипичной для брутальной группы. Остросоциальными текстами (зачастую с ярко выраженным креном в левизну и анархо-нигилизм), присущими грайндкоровой сцене, вряд ли кого-то удивишь, поэтому украинцы SECTORIAL порадовали своим дистанцированием от этого болота и трезвым взглядом на многие вещи через призму языческого мировоззрения, нисколько не затуманенную пустопорожней риторикой либерастов и kokoshnikЪ-metal тусовки.

Название альбома «Erase And Reborn The Humanity» (уничтожь и возроди человечество) образует акроним «E.A.R.T.H.» (Земля). И название, и акроним как нельзя лучше выражают концепцию и основную идею альбома. Как ни крути, а в современном мире у человека, относящегося к Природе, как к Матери, эта любовь к Природе не может не граничить с мизантропией к той безмозглой части человечества, которой в большей мере соответствует определение Homo Parasiticus, а не Homo Sapiens.

Эпиграфом к альбому служат высказывания классика французской литературы и ученого Блеза Паскаля о познании мира, а также связи между видимым и невидимым мирами. Дизайн буклета по-первобытному прост и не перегружен ненужными деталями, что прекрасно подчеркивает tribal эстетику самого оформления и ту кроманьонско-неандертальскую атмосферу, которую создают вкрапления обертоновой флейты в нескольких песнях.

Несмотря на явную эклектичность материала SECTORIAL и явные ассоциации с брутальным прошлым шведской группы AFFLICTED (впоследствии выпустившей блистательный авангардный альбом «Prodigal Sun» (1992)), авангардным рецензируемый мною альбом не назовешь – нет тут никакой вымученной или вычурной камерности, оторванной от действительности, тогда как плещущей через край энергии хоть отбавляй. Судя по активной концертной деятельности и восторженным отзывам о живых выступлениях SECTORIAL, живьем команда звучит так же великолепно, как и на CD. И если ценителям брутальщины команда уже хорошо известна, то любители сочетания экстремальной музыки с фолком пока не подозревают об отличном релизе, который мог бы создать в мире не меньший ажиотаж, чем известные украинские pagan folk metal группы – пусть и не в указанном стиле!

Мне, как слушателю, хотелось бы, чтобы SECTORIAL в будущем продолжал развивать в своем брутальном творчестве folk/tribal линию, поскольку именно эта "фольклорная экспедиция" и сделала группу заметной величиной среди знатных мясорубов из бесчисленных легионов тружеников мясодробуляторного искусства. От себя еще добавлю, что в tribal/ethno-контексте звучание SECTORIAL очень бы выиграло при дополнительном использовании перкуссии. Классические работы чешских новаторов тяжелой сцены MASTER'S HAMMER в свое время продемонстрировали, насколько эффектно звучит гром литавр в Black Metal-стилистике... Полагаю, что определенная доля шаманского транса прекрасно бы вписалась и в ломовой death metal!

La Terre. Notre centre vital, notre espace de vie communautaire, notre symbole d’existence et de soi. Mais également, et surtout dans le cas nous intéressant, acronyme de la destruction ultime et de l’éradication terminale de notre espèce. 
"Erase and Reborn the Humanity". Effacer et faire renaitre l’humanité…repartir des flammes encore ardentes, renaitre à partir de cendres encore fumantes pour ne jamais complètement oublier. Garder un lien du passé pour perpétuer la peur du présent dans l’avenir. 

C’est ce symbole qu’a voulu mettre en exergue Sectorial, quartet ukrainien des plus vindicatifs sortant aujourd’hui son premier album. En reprenant également l’image de l’ouroboros (le serpent se mordant la queue) dans l’artwork, Sectorial évoque cette boucle infinie et salutaire, ne fermant mais n’ouvrant jamais la porte sur l’extérieur, pour solidifier cette thèse d’une renaissance sur des bases différentes mais aux acteurs identiques. 
Ambitieux concept pour un premier album, après quelques démos, que c’est imposé là le groupe ukrainien. D’autant plus imposant que la tracklist présente vingt-deux compositions originales, plus une reprise, pour une durée totale de quarante-cinq minutes. On devine dès lors que l’agression sera constante et très soutenue. 

Officiant à la base dans une sorte de grindcore, Sectorial est aujourd’hui plus proche d’un metal extrême entre le death, le core et les nouveaux groupes brutaux qui ont émergés avec The Dillinger Escape Plan, encore et toujours eux. Il est évidemment difficile de sortir du lot les titres puisque tout s’enchaine très vite, provoquant une très forte cohésion d’ensemble et une rage primaire des plus brutales. On pourrait presque parfois penser à un Slayer déluré, notamment dans le chant, qui jouerait à une vitesse trois fois supérieur et avec des cassures rythmiques bien plus techniques et incontrôlées que les américains. 
Néanmoins, si les compositions sont majoritairement sans répit ni concession, elles se rejoignent autour d’un thème commun, d’une entité propre qui permet justement à "E.A.R.T.H" de posséder une unité cohérente. Cela passe par les riffs, les mélodies mais aussi les arrangements ethniques apportant énormément d’originalité à un genre musical, il est vrai, pillé dans tous les sens depuis quelques années. De "Cahe with No Limits" à l’ultime "The Exhausted" en surplombant les ultras brutaux "The Unknown", "Thy New Horizon" ou encore le plus technique et ciselé "Stolen Words", tout se recoupe dans une cohérence parfaite pour donner cette sensation d’unité, de frappe dans une même direction, d’équité et de compréhension dans la violence. Mais justement, à l’intérieur de cette violence, il y a les paysages de beauté et de nature, halo de calme et de volupté dépeints dans cet horizon sombre et chaotique. 

Par l’intermédiaire d’une flute de pan, d’instruments étranges à la résonance l’étant tout autant, se rapprochant du didgeridoo ou des ambiances tziganes, Sectorial parvient à toucher l’auditeur en insufflant de la grâce, un semblant de beauté et d’espoir dans ce chaos perpétuellement violent. Il y a d’abord ce "Before the Silence Come", à base de chants d’oiseaux et des bruits de la nature, évoquant par exemple les incartades naturelles de Shaman. Il y a également les sons samplés et spatiaux de "Too Much ?" apportant une coloration nouvelle au concept, la flute de "Stolen Words" qui ralenti le tempo jusqu’à la rendre hypnotique, revenant mais avec des aspects presque folk sur la surprenante "Flaw of Law". 

Sectorial livre un album à la fois accessible mais dont les prises de risques sont réels, et lui permettent de se démarquer des trop nombreuses copies conformes que l’on trouve dans ce genre de metal extrême déluré et très technique actuellement très prisé des jeunes formations. En créant un concept fort et mature et en utilisant des éléments de sa culture pour enrichir la musique, le quatuor livre un album solide et intéressant à plus d’un titre, qui est malheureusement trop inaperçu dans nos contrées, probablement, une fois de plus, faute à un manque de moyen de communication. Il est pourtant évident que le groupe a des choses à dire, et qu’à l’avenir, elles pourraient se révéler cruciales et détenir les clés de la pérennité d’un style ayant déjà de grandes lacunes pour se renouveler…

Sectorial is a band hailing from the Ukraine that has released 3 EP's previously. I cannot comment on how those sounded since I never even heard of the band until I got this album in my hands.
So according to the band they play some sort of thrash/grindcore mix, now does this hold true?
The bands starts out as expected as a very grindcore band. Simple riffs but very heavy. But here they are being song with a thrasy voice. Nothing to unexpected, but on closer examination one suddenly finds black metal influences and even pagan instruments. While this sounds like a strange mix (and it definitely is), it can be a great plus for people searching for something new.
The song 'Too Much?' has a pan-flute in it, that is indeed a bit to much for a song that for the rest is just like any other random grindcore song. But balls for trying guys, balls.
The songs are all pretty short, keeping in the grindcore tradition even-though there are a few exceptions like 'Stolen World' and ' Before the Silence Comes" that latter one even including bird chirping and more flute-action (not the kind that you see in a dirty movie though).

The booklet is pretty well done, with all lyrics being both in Ukrainian and English next to each other, it also starts with and text from Plaise Pascal (thoughts), which is a very interesting way to engage your listener to your themes. Here most songs are about that you need to wake up and stop taking everything for granted.
If you like your grindcore to be just that tad bit more, that tad bit more experimental check it out. I for one did not like the more alternative bits like 'Before The Silence Comes' but I still liked the more traditional parts pretty well.

Interesting piece of music aggression, coming from Ukraine. After many EPs, this gang decided to release a very long first Full Length album (23 tracks!!) and they caught my attention because of some aspects. They play a very fast and furious thrash/death metal, in the vein of what is coming lately form the north of Europe, with guttural voices and excellent guitar riffs. But, the scale of violence at times leans towards the grind core style, and that’s quite interesting because they mix both styles with underground flavor and professionalism. And believe it or not, sounds good. Also, they dare to add some touches of what seems to be local antique instruments, in some intros, and they use Ukrainian language at some songs. These aspects give them a unique sound and that’s good. I liked “Passing by…” where the snare drum attack sounds like a fucking gun machine, or “Thy New Horizon” which has some incredible fast tempo changes. The whole album comes very fluid and with good taste, the only problem is that contains too many songs, and after track 17, you have to stop it for a moment. Anyway, it’s a 45 mins album full of ferocious metal attack, you will like since the first moment. As extra info, the last track is a cover from Phobia. – Victor Varas

Ben ventitre tracce, una più bastarda dell'altra, infarcite di riff spigolosi, velocità d'esecuzione sempre tirata in quinta, sessione ritmica al cardiopalma, screaming hardcorazzo, qualche momento un po' più tranquillizzante, cambi di tempo che non lasciano riposare e grancassa messa a dura prova. Il tutto ci ricorda ovviamente i grandiosi Napalm Death.
C'è poco da dire, le canzoni hanno una durata minima ma sanno essere d'impatto, in più la band sembra aver capito che, vista la poca originalità del genere, sia bene piazzare qualcosa di, bene o male, distintivo in ogni singola traccia.
I Sectorial, dunque, tirano fuori giusto quel che serve per far impazzire i fans del grind, ricreando una perfetta armonia tra mosh-pit violentissimo, headbanging e calci & pugni volanti. Un macello sonoro, suonato con rabbia e cuore!

After a few EP’s the band has released their debut album Erase and Reborn the Humanity and it mixes together a whole slew of metal genres. The primary styles are grindcore and thrash, but there are some folk and death metal elements that pop up throughout the course of the release. It’s an interesting mix that gives the band a unique sound, and while there are a few missteps this is still a strong and polished effort.
After a spacey intro Sectorial launches right into their instrumental assault, hitting listeners with fast paced blasts and unrelenting waves of drumming. It’s fairly typical sounding grindcore with a bit of a death metal edge to the tonality, and the recording quality gives the instrumentals a polished feel. But by the time the next track comes on it is clear that this is not going to be your typical grind album, as the tempo not only slows down but some folk instruments are added into the mix which provides a completely different sound. These influences pop up every once in a while, and on some of the later tracks the guitarists throw down some licks that sound inspired by the classic thrash bands. There’s a lot of variation in the 45 minute running time, and for the majority of it the group is able to impress. But a few of the experimental numbers drag on for a bit too long and become repetitive, and a little more fine tuning could help.

Lead singer Burz has a harsh scream that is able to go up and down in pitch throughout the course of the album. Sometimes he goes for a lower growl while on other tracks his vocals head into a higher scream, and this ensures that his performance doesn’t become repetitive at any point. The level of intensity that Burz brings to the table is admirable, and while his vocal style didn’t have any particular nuances that made it stand out in my mind it suits the material perfectly and makes the album enjoyable to listen to. The Phobia cover “Rise Up!” is admirable too, as the vocals have the right amount of energy to do the song justice.

Sectorial’s experimentation with folk elements in the context of a grindcore/thrash album works surprisingly well, but there are a few too many moments that feel like unnecessary filler. But when the band nails the combination of sounds it results in some killer arrangements and because of this Erase and Reborn the Humanity is worth giving a shot. It’s nice to find that there is still room for unique ideas in this side of the metal world, and with a little more fine tuning this group could make a major impression on listeners.

Just as I thought that there can be no more new innovations to the already saturated metal genre, I chanced upon Ukraine’s Sectorial. The fact that the band describes their music as a hybrid of thrash metal and grindcore got me somewhat interested, with most grind bands having a heavier death metal influence instead, though that’s not to say that thrash influences aren’t present. But that’s not the most interesting part of Sectorial‘s music, as one would soon find out on their debut full length release, Erase and Reborn the Humanity.

The introductory segment of He Who Eats the Tale presents some rather unconventional sound effects that one would easily attribute as electronic elements, but as the album begins one would realise how wrong he is. The music on Erase and Reborn the Humanity would be more than simply thrash metal and grindcore, but one would soon notice elements of black metal and folk metal in the band’s material as well. Sure, the main style of the band here is classic ballsy grindcore that will remind listeners of bands like Phobia and Wormrot, with the crushing riffs and the urgent pace of the music, and the short track lengths that would please those with ADD, especially with tracks like Stones Have a Vote. But the madness begins with Too Much?, with the native instrumentations that are present giving a unique touch and a contrasting sense of calm to the chaos that the rest of the band are indulging in. Furthermore, the instrumental interlude Before the Silence Came even includes sounds of nature, along with some wind instrumentation, providing some atmospheric aspect to the music and fitting to the themes of nature and social issues of Sectorial‘s lyrics, and provides a much needed calm in the midst of a raging storm.

The band could have been easily dismissed as one that simply makes use of gimmick to gain attention, but at the same time it is rather hard to overlook the talent that each of the band members have. Sure, the folk and native instrumentations that are present on the record could be the thing that allows for Sectorial to stand out from its other grindcore peers, but at the same time, the rest of the band display their abilities on their instruments, in particular the drums of Igor, who blasts relentlessly throughout the album. Guitarist Dmitriy also at times contribute to the soaring guitar solos that are on the album, providing the songs with a sense of melody, and as if those riffs that he unleash aren’t punishing enough, Boris’ bass guitars are also rather clear in the mix, providing that heavy, rumbling tone and also some groove to the music.

On Erase and Reborn the Humanity, the music of Sectorial sounds like what grindcore veterans are capable of putting out, displaying the talent that these Ukrainians have. The folk influences that the band has included has made this release all the more interesting, and Sectorial is certainly on to something good here. If Sectorial manages to continue in this excellent direction, who knows, they could one day become masters of a genre that they could call their own.

Quanto ci mancava una release del genere? Tanto. Abbiamo avuto diversi pezzi grossi del grind alle prese con nuovo materiale nel 2012, ma si trattava più che altro di band già affermate che avevano detto tutto o quasi quello che avevano da dire assestandosi su livelli ottimi, ma senza quella spinta che aveva caratterizzato i loro primi lavori. Pensiamo agli ultimi prodotti di Phobia e Napalm Death. Necessaria aria fresca, necessaria qualche band che abbia un songwriting quantomeno buono, e che soprattutto abbia qualche spunto innovativo per la scena, meglio ancora se la band è semi-esordiente. La descrizione corrisponde esattamente ai Sectorial. Possiamo dirci non soddisfatti, ma molto di più. Gli ucraini arrivano al debutto dopo una trafila di EP, e questo 'E. A. R. T. H.' è quanto di meglio potesse arrivarci dalla lontana Ucraina. Un album che suona come un grande massiccio di grindcore dalle influenze più moderne, l'impatto è ritardato, ma comunque immane: l'intro elettronica sembra spiazzarci, la opener "Cage With No Limits" è il classico pezzo che ogni grande band grind compone, non è una sorpresa, ma già siamo sulla buona strada per il sanguinamento auricolare. La genialata del gruppo si trova subito dopo. "Too Much?" è ancora un proiettile vagante a velocità fulminanti, ma è un flauto che accompagna i riff nervosi di Trit o stiamo delirando? Come se non bastasse nel break centrale sentiamo lo straniante e sinistro suono di uno scacciapensieri (!) e allora capiamo che questi ucraini stanno davvero male e vanno avanti così: a canoniche — ma sempre ben suonate e lungi dall'essere scontate — canzoni grind inzuppate in egual misura nel death spiccio di inizio anni Novanta e in certa urgenza hardcore, vengono affiancati frangenti atmosferici che rimandano a qualche desolata landa sovietica, elaborati pattern di batteria che si fanno corposi e più cadenzati, il tutto in salsa rutilante e marcia sotto la direzione della potentissima voce di Burz che ricorda i Malevolent Creation. Non è solo la violenza che caratterizza il mondo dei Sectorial: non sono tantissime le band che riescono a coniugare una qualità altissima nei pezzi tirati e poi suonare assoli come quello di "Thy New Horizon", o "Truth Of Life", oppure trovare il tempo per costruire la lunga (per il genere suonato) "Stolen World", ancora alle prese con flauti e riff molto melodici, ma stavolta ai confini del black metal. Non ci sono cedimenti, benchè quarantaquattro minuti siano considerevoli per un disco così: giusto la cover dei Phobia l'avremmo evitata, proprio perchè i Sectorial brillano di luce propria e non hanno bisogno di rubare spazio alle loro composizioni. La strada è in discesa per questi ragazzi, e li vogliamo ancora più schizzati e senza paura di allontanarsi dalle loro influenze maggiori.


Non saranno (ancora) fenomeni, ma intanto piazzano il disco grind del mese.

When you see that an album has 20+ songs you pretty much know that you’re not going to get a prog metal album full of 15 minutes songs. No, better prepare for countless bursts of short sharp shocks. Get ready to be blown away from a massive assault of furious intensity. Sectorial is a blank spot for me. But knowing nothing about them can be a relief too. You can take it on without any pre-conceived ideas of what it should sound like. This is short bursts of death metal/grindcore proving that you don’t have to write 5 minutes songs to make it interesting. OK, there are songs on this album longer than 3 minutes and they are just as to the point as the shorter ones. But all in all a pretty cool record from a band totally new to me.

С первого захода этот альбом не вызвал у меня особого энтузиазма. Очень уж сумбурным он показался, на первый взгляд. Дав диску полежать, некоторое время, на полке, я вновь вернулся к нему. И свершилось чудо – мелодии, сначала показавшиеся диким нагромождением из разных направлений тяжелого рока, выстроились в чёткую концептуальную линию, композиции приобрели глубину и, надо отдать должное музыкантам, – не у многих тяжелых команд хватило бы духу пуститься в подобные  эксперименты с разными стилями. В музыке SECTORIAL переплелись элементы грайндкора, блэк металла, трэша и фолка. Ритмические ходы – не предсказуемы, энергетика бешенная. Драйв и угар – обеспечены! При всём смешении стилей, музыка осталась очень мелодичной. Лирика в песнях близка к социальной тематике и, по сути, почти каждая песня несёт в себе крик отчаявшегося человека, запертого в бетонных джунглях цивилизации.
“Брудною водою не напиваєшся?
 Гнилою їжею не наїдаєшся?
 Невже ти не супер істота?
 Де твій гострий розум?
 Сам себе загоняєш у кут
 Обмежуєш рівень свого життя
 Начепив на себе примарні

Такие слова, наверное, никогда не утратят своей актуальности, пока будет существовать современный мировой порядок. А для тех, кто ещё не знаком с творчеством SECTORIAL, но следит за зарубежными музыкальными событиями, условно можно провести параллель с норвежской группой KVELERTAK, с той лишь разницей, что наши пошли дальше норвежских коллег и используют звучание дудок, сопилок, дрымбы, тем самым добавляя своим песням украинского национального колорита. Может показаться, что SECTORIAL попытались угодить как можно большей аудитории, но это будет заблуждением, ибо, после внимательного прослушивания, не остаётся никаких сомнений в оригинальности звучания SECTORIAL. Музыканты не стали идти  проторенной дорогой, а пошли своим путём, найдя свой, узнаваемый саунд и стиль.

Материал заслуживает внимания, как нечто необычное в экстремальной музыке и даже уникальное. Представьте себе фолк-грайнд, да еще с использованием электроники... Да, ребята, это факт: короткие песни Sectorial, основанные на традициях панка и grind core (в духе Napalm Death), обогащены инструментами и мотивами, никак не стыкующимися с вышеупомянутыми жанрами. Посреди грайндирующего напора электрических инструментов мы слышим флейту, жалейку, варган и черт-те какие другие народные инструменты, а вклинивающиеся в голимый брутал мелодии – истинно славянские по духу. Ну, как, например, в треках “Too Much?” (“Забагато?”) и “Stolen World” (“Вкрадений свiт”). Конечно, в очень коротких вещах, занимающих минуту и меньше по времени (а таких тут тоже хватает), этого не замечаешь, поскольку они пролетают, как пули. Однако более протяженные и серьезные треки просто кишат аранжировками в духе каких-нибудь folk/pagan групп. Необычно все же услышать на дэтовом диске пение соловья и шум просыпающегося леса… Того и гляди, на опушке появится пастушок и лениво плетущееся за ним в июльскую жару стадо коров! Но вот именно такова “Before The Silence Come”. Впрочем, и брутальные треки хороши, напористы и точно бьют в цель, а то, на каком языке спевает вокалист, улавливаешь не сразу. Вдруг ощущаешь себя в некой огромной мясорубке или посреди мош-пита. Достойна внимания работа гитариста, кроме зверских рифов, извлекающего на свет и невероятно мелодичные соляки (“The New Horizon” и другие). Выше всех похвал и ритм-секция, сбивки, паузы и смены темпа при такой бешеной скорости и краткости треков – просто невероятны. Даже не будь фольклорных вставок и электронных интро, “Erase And Reborn The Humanity” слушался бы нескучно и разнообразно. Отмечу отличный саунд и наиболее вкатившие треки: “Too Much?”, “Why Are You Killing Yourself?”, “Stolen World”, “Flaw of the Law”, “Truth of Life”. Высший бал за жанровую оригинальность и силу материала!

Waar zijn deze Oekraïners zo kwaad over? Ze hebben zojuist Zweden een pak voor de broek gegeven op het EK. Oh ja, da’s juist, die politieke vechtpartijen in het parlement of presidentiële vergiftigingspogingen misschien. Op hun debuutalbum geven ze eens flink van hun gat, deze twaalfjarige band.

Zeggen dat ze gewoon grindcore spelen is onvolledig. Het merendeel van de 23 songs bestaat inderdaad uit op punkdampen drijvende groovezagen die losse drumpatronen met sporadische blastende cactusnaalden wegslingeren. Weinig bijzondere – of het moest die Oekraïense taal zijn — thrashhoestzang volgt iedere keer een gelijkaardig ritme. Droge sound waarin je gewoon alles hoort zonder meer en je zit in de veilige massastroom. Sectorial glipt er als een gewiekste Shevchenko tussendoor, omdat ze er ook langere songs met hoge blackzweemakkoorden tussenin zetten. Helemaal surrealistisch wordt het als ze daar met een blokfluit een pseudo-paganwijsje overheen tjilpen. In die blacksongs werkt dat, maar proberen ze dat instrument te integreren in die snelle grindcircelzaagjes dan vloekt het. Pagangrind? Iemand moest het proberen om de mensheid te leren dat het niet werkt, dus een bro-fist voor het lef. Too Much? is het meest toepasselijke voorbeeld, waarin zelfs een mondharp voorkomt.

Een aantal van die ziedende grooveriffs rost er driftig op los, maar net als de zang teren ze te opvallend op dezelfde patronen. Ze spelen het wel eerlijk, want tijdens de soleerduikvluchten blijft alleen de ritmesectie over, zodat het even ineen stuikt. Niettegenstaande die verrassende blackmetalsongs en de lefgozer die regelmatig z’n fluit boven haalt, bereikt deze plaat in haar algemeen net de tweede ronde, maar daar zal ze uitgeschakeld worden door een — laat ons willekeurig zeggen — Duitse genregenoot.

We returned home after four days at the beach! To say that everything was cool — do not say anything. Sectorial played on August 2, the first day of the festival, along with lots of nice bands (Nile, Khors, Datura, Castrum, Dogma, :Tremor, Infinite Tales, Necropositive). Ed ora metto piede in Ucraina per avere a che fare con una band Thrash Metal/Grindcore che ha debuttato quest’anno con l’album che oggi recensirò, ma vediamo prima chi sono: i Sectorial nascono nel 2000 e fino al 2007 sono una di quelle bands rilegate nel garage, tra il 2008 e il 2009 vedono la luce 3 ep (“Cerebrum Necrosis Est It In Nobis”, “Boiler” e “Controlled Insane”) e quest’anno hanno rilasciato l’album di debutto, cioè “Erase and Reborn the Humanity”.
Come vi ho detto prima gli ucraini ci sbattono in faccia del Thrash Metal/Grindcore, feroce e inaspettato (soprattutto per via degli inserti usati come nel brano “Too Much ?”, c’è da dire che sono molto belli). Di Grindcore vi è per lo più la durata dei brani (tutte sui 2 minuti tranne un paio che li superano, e altri che non arrivano nemmeno a un minuto) e la veloce esecuzione di essi. Qui c’è voglia di sperimentare e si sente tantissimo e la band lo fa nei migliori dei modi.
Tutt’altro che noioso: 23 brani per 44 minuti circa, non avete nemmeno il tempo di annoiarvi per un brano che subito ne inizia un altro, ma tranquilli, al massimo dopo vi lamenterete perchè è finito troppo presto.
Cosa penso ascoltandolo? Uno di quei lavori da headbanging furioso e che lascia il segno: particolare, cazzuto e inaspettato, questi gli aggettivi che meglio si addicono a questa release.
I brani che spiccano maggiormente? La già citata “Too Much ?”, “Viva Nature”, “Internal Enemy”, “Stolen World”, “Religion-Business” e “Flaw of Law”.
Posso concludere dicendo che se cercate un qualcosa di estremo e particolare senza finire in un qualcosa di pacchiano quest’album fa per voi. Promosso e consigliato agli amanti del Thrash Metal più veloce ed estremo.

Review:
An interesting new name coming our of Ukraine but this time not what we're used to, Black Metal, but a strange combination of Thrash Metal and Grind. Sectorial are around since 2000 but this is the first time I've heard of them and "Erase and Reborn the Humanity" is also their debut album. Fast, very aggressive, intense that's how their music sounds inhere. Definitely nothing new, but the addition of traditional instruments here and there is a novelty and from my point of view they should develop this element, they should add more Folkloric touches to their music, now that would be something really out of the ordinary and could stir a lot of interest. Their compositions and execution are not bad at all, also the production is great, so I guess traditional Grindcore fans will enjoy it a lot, but what I'm looking for is a more developed mix of Grind and Folk, and I really hope they do that on their next release. Thumbs up for having the guts to try something like this on this debut album.

А вылилось оно в вышедший в этом году альбом «Erase And Reborn The Humanity» (или просто «EARTH»), который являет собой абсолютную мощь и ураганный коктейль из местами мелодичного трэш/дэт-металла и грайндкора. Как будто адский бармен смешал музыку Napalm Death, Dimension Zero и Impaled Nazarene, сдобрив щепоткой краст-панка и даже украинского фолка с варганом и дудкой (!!!), а затем все это разделил на 20 неравномерных порций – фактически вот он, рецепт «EARTH». Короткие, местами даже слишком (попросту не успеваешь понять, что вообще произошло) треки полны мощного, но читаемого рыка, ревущих гитар и бластбитов. Особый респект барабанщику – иногда создается впечатление, что вместо палок у него два перфоратора. При этом все инструментальные партии очень качественно сыгранны, что не может не радовать, и в дополнение к неистовой бес-компромиссности мы получаем еще и отличный слушабельный материал. Из плюсов могу также отметить, что поют Sectorial на родном украинском языке, а для тех, кто такового не знает, в буклете тексты дублируются на английском. Концепцию альбома подробно описывает песня «Viva Nature» — работа целиком посвящена Земле-матушке, тому, что с ней делается, и тому, чем можно ей помочь. В связи с этим обстоятельством фолковые вставки не кажутся лишними, а, наоборот, являются контрастным дополнением. Всем любителям скоростной брутальщины данный диск настоятельно рекомендуется. А на бис – кавер на песню «Rise Up!» американских грайндкорщиков Phobia.

SECTORIAL „E.A.R.T.H.“

Bislang gab es aus dem Hause SECTORIAL drei EPs zu begutachten, die von der Band selbst herausgebracht wurden und jetzt durch das erste Album ergänzt werden. Es trägt den Titel „E.A.R.T.H.“, der als Abkürzung für „Erase And Reborn The Humanity“ zu verstehen ist. Musikalisch treiben sich die Herren von SECTORIAL in modernen Grind-Gefilden herum, die teils crustig, teils thrashig und auch hin und wieder todesmetallisch daherkommen und immer offen für Genre-fremde Einflüsse sind. Somit muss auch eine Prise Avantgarde unterstellt werden. Der eindeutige Fokus von SECTORIAL liegt aber im Grindcore, der durch die verschiedenen Ergänzungen und Einflüsse eben individualisiert wird. Mit Einheitsbrei hat „E.A.R.T.H.“ nichts zu tun. Vielmehr erschaffen die Jungs aus der Ukraine ihre ganz eigene Interpretation von modernem Grindcore, der durch Intensität, Emotionalität und Intelligenz absolut überzeugt. Die 45 Minuten Spielzeit werden zu keinem Zeitpunkt langweilig, und man hat nie das Gefühl, dass sich die Gruppe wiederholt, wie es bei Kollegen schon einmal vorkommt. So besticht man im Hause SECTORIAL durch Abwechslungsreichtum, Eigenständigkeit und Ehrlichkeit. Auf diese Weise vermag es „E.A.R.T.H.“, den Hörer sofort in Beschlag zu nehmen und erst nach dem letzten Ton wieder zu entlassen. Für Grindcore-Fans, die auch crustigen, death-metallischen und thrashigen Elementen gegenüber nicht abgeneigt sind, ist „E.A.R.T.H.“ definitiv ein Pflichtkauf! (MH)

А то ситуация с грайнд-кором у нас напоминает поговорку: «При всём богатстве выбора – выбрать нечего». Вот тут-то, как раз, и пригодятся ребята из Киевской области. В отличие от большинства грайндовых банд, творчество SECTORIAL вполне можно оценить музыкально – песни забойны, лирика социальная, на украинском языке, звук убедительный. Некоторое недоумение вызывает использование народных инструментов, и не нужно обвинять нас в излишней консервативности и не способности оценить новаторский подход ребят из SECTORIAL, окажись вместо флейты в третьей композиции губная гармоника, в четвёртой или в пятой арфа, мы бы также задались вопросом: «Зачем?». Впрочем, резонно предположить, что наши товарищи, таким образом, хотели подчеркнуть свои национальные корни. С этой точки зрения весьма забавна реакция одного вебзина: http://metalasfuck.net/zine/reviews/2012/sectorial-%E , назвавшего альбом “E.A.R.T.H.” не то «смесью NAPALM DEATH и NOKTURNAL MORTUM времён “Nechrist”, не то AGATHOCLES и CRUACHAN».
На самом деле, любителям чего-то восточно-европейского (читай чешского) стоит обратить внимание на этот альбом. Тем более, что все эти ONANIZER’ы и прочие NEEDFUL THINGS’ы не часто радуют нас полноформатными работами, предпочитая сплиты и сорокопятки. А тут 22 песни на 44 минуты, плюс ковер на американцев PHOBIA на закуску. Что ещё нужно?

- Привет! Совсем недавно вышел ваш дебютный альбом. Каковы планы, в отношении его дальнейшего продвижения?
- Привет! Спасибо за проявленное внимание. Планы — выступать, потом немного выступать, и в конце еще выступать). Планируем больше концертов, как на территории Украины, так и за её пределами.
- Удачно ли проходят гастроли в поддержку нового альбома и насколько успешны его предварительные продажи? Судя по полученным в медиапространстве отзывам, уже можно подвести предварительные итоги?
- Вообще, все проходит весьма не плохо — есть концерты, есть люди, есть хорошо проведенное время. Другое дело, что людей — мало, уровень концертов тоже разный, но мы живем без отрыва от реальности, потому к такой ситуации готовы. По поводу пред-продажи лучше спросить у лейбла), но на концертах диски у нас покупают, поддерживают. Отзывы, в большинстве своем, положительные, общественность встретила альбом тепло.
- Что привело вас к столь дикому стилистическому коктейлю? Как ты сам можешь охарактеризовать свою музыку?
- Да разные мы все в группе). И вкусы музыкальные тоже отличаются. Добавить к этому долгое знакомство друг с другом — и получаем вот такой музыкальный сплав. Готовили мы его долго и упорно, путем проб и ошибок, но результатом довольны. А вот с характеристикой собственной музыки как-то тяжело). Сказать что метал — так ведь и не совсем — много грайнда, назвать грайндкором — так и метала много)), да еще и этнические инструменты... потому, наверное, вот это длинное обозвание стиля (Blackened Thrash Metal/Grindcore) и есть верным, как-то характеризует и создает представление о том, что мы играем.
- В своей музыке вы используете флейту, что выглядит довольно авангардно. Откуда этот фольковый налет, и как вы вообще пришли к подобному решению?
- Не флейтой единой), есть большой арсенал инструментов, которые мы используем в своей музыке. Некоторые записаны на альбоме, некоторые — только на живых выступлениях. Любовь к фолку живет во мне давно, сам изготавливаю инструменты, сам же на них и играю. А примешать к грайндкору этники нам показалось интересным эксперементом, к которому ранее особо никто не прибегал. Если есть инструменты, умение и желание играть, то чего бы и не попробовать совместить не совместимое)). Пока это приносит только положительный результат и удовольствие).
- “E.A.R.T.H.” является вашим первым не только полноформатным, но и официально изданным альбомом. Почему первые 3 ЕР были выпущены своими силами, не было достойных предложений? Не возникало ощущения битья головой о глухую стену?
- Издать ЕР у нас в стране не своими силами — нереально, как по мне, потому мы и не задавались целью издания, скорее целью промоуции. А «битье о стену» — это процесс очень растянутый во времени, и он тянется до сих пор. Тут тебе и издание, и посещение концертов, и ситуация с клубами, организаторами, и тд, и тп. Но, рано или поздно, это дает свои результаты, чего-то мы уже добились, к чему-то наметили путь и движемся в сторону роста.
- А не появилось ли желания, учитывая наличие контракта с издающим лейблом, переиздать все ранее вышедшие ЕР в рамках одного релиза?
- Пока таких мыслей не было. Все релизы, до полноформатника, есть в свободном доступе в сети, и кому интересно и нужно — может легко их там найти. Да и, по правде говоря, материал с них для нас уже немного устарел, но как говорят, поживем — увидим.
- Обложки предыдущих релизов были выполнены в довольно традиционном кроваво — гнойном стиле, чего не скажешь о текстах. Однако, на “E.A.R.T.H.” концепция оформления в корне изменилась, став даже атмосферной. Да еще Уроборос в логотипе… В чем причина подобных изменений и насколько тесно образы, использованные в оформлении, связаны с лирикой?
- Мы выросли). Как в возрастном плане, так и в эмоциональном. Изменилась музыка, соответственно захотелось изменить и ее представление, оформление, что — ли... преподнести в правильной атмосфере, для ее (музыки) наилучшего восприятия. По поводу связи образов с текстовой составляющей, тут сложнее. Тексты, в основном, имеют социальную направленность, хотя некоторые и не лишены «природного» налёта (взаимоотношения природа – человек, в наше время, весьма актуальны). Связью оформления диска, лирикой и музыкальной составляющей мы хотели показать, что грайндкор — это не только трупы, гной, порнуха и тд. Что в этом направлении есть место более глубоким и сильным образам, которые органично вплетутся в музыку.
- Аббревиатуру “E.A.R.T.H.” также можно прочитать, как название одной из четырех основных стихий. Это что, прицел на будущее? Планируете развить концепцию и последующие альбомы посвятить иным стихиям?
- Черт подери, ты как будто в головы к нам заглядываешь))). Мысли были, но время покажет. Возможно, в будущем мы зацепим и остальные стихии, но это будет не обязательно в следующем альбоме.
- Что для тебя стало одним из самых важных решений в жизни, и, в связи с этим, что ты можешь пожелать читателям?
- Важным решением для меня стало решение заниматься музыкой, во что бы то не стало, чем с успехом мы занимаемся группой уже много лет. Читателям я желаю не падать духом, расти над собой, становиться лучше и лучше с каждым днем, и реализовывать свои
мечты. У каждого своя дорога, главное не останавливаться на полпути. Тебе большое спасибо за вью. Увидимся!

Представленный, на альбоме, совершенно дикий стилистический коктейль трудно уместить в определенные рамки. Взяв за основу грайнд, ребята, ничтоже сумняшеся, напичкали его блэком, фолком, добавив хард-кора, а также соло, звучащих не то в духе трэша, не то в духе AC/DC. Унаследованное от грайнда непродолжительное звучание большинства композиций, не препятствует SECTORAIL в течение каких-то 1-2 минут выплеснуть на головы слушателей бешеный микс из зубодробительных риффов, блэковых тремоло, резких ритмических сбивок и неожиданных соло, приправляя все вышеперечисленное умеренными дозами фолка. Грайнд с флейтой — то же самое, что пить чай с горчицей. Но у SECTORAIL это, черт возьми, еще как срабатывает и, главное, звучит убедительно! Отдельного внимания заслуживают актуальные тексты на злобу дня. Поверьте, этим ребятам действительно есть что сказать, в отличие от большинства своих коллег по цеху, в трясине гнойных возлияний мастурбирующих на расчлененные трупы. Условными минусами альбома является лишь его некоторая хаотичность и то, что большинство самых убойных композиций сосредоточены ближе к его второй половине. Но, в целом, на сегодняшний день "E.A.R.T.H." можно считать одним из самых интересных и жопопинающих релизов текущего года.

Tudom, ez még manapság sem tűnik túl kecsegtető vagy vonzó dolognak, pláne akkor amikor csak itt Európában a jól bejáratott és megbízható anyagokat leszállító színtereink még mindig ontják magukból a jobbnál jobb produktumokat, ám a sötétebb és erőszakosabb zenét kedvelők számára az ukrán és orosz bandák már egy ideje bizony komoly alternatívával képesek szolgálni, és tulajdonképpen minden csak azon múlik, hogy az ember mennyi időt szán ezeknek a felkutatására, ugyanis ezeket a zenekarokat aligha tolja az internetes média az ember arcába! Node nincs is ezzel olyan nagy probléma, pláne ha egy olyan stílusú zenekarról van szó, mint az ukrán Sectorial, hisz ez a fajta gázálarcos, posztnukleáris "ultraviolence" metálmuzsika, amit a négy Kijev-i srác játszik, talán jobb is ha megmarad a bunkerek és légoltalmi pincék mélyén, pláne, ha ilyen jókat kívánnak az emberiségnek, mint amiről a cím is árulkodik! ;)

Tizenkét éves fennállása ellenére a Sectorial eleddig csak három EP-vel vétette észre magát, azok is a 2008-as és 2009-es évre koncentrálódtak, és bár lehet hogy előtte is készültek valamilyen hangzóanyagok vagy dalok, azokat már mindenképp egy lezárt fejezetnek tekintik az ukrán srácok, ugyanis a hivatalos infók szerint 2007 előtt egy egész más zenei síkon mozgó garázsbandáról beszélhettünk esetükben! Nem tudom hogy ez milyen zenét takarhatott egész pontosan, az Erase and Reborn the Humanity fényében ez szerintem leginkább a punk lehetett, ám abban egész biztos vagyok hogy nagyon megérte váltani, mert nagyon érzi a Sectorial ezt a kevert grindcore stílust... magam is elcsodálkoztam hogy egy ilyen szinten összeszedett anyaggal állt elő debütlemezként az ukrán banda (bár több mint évtizedes fennállás után valahol elvárható), az pedig kifejezetten felvillanyozott, hogy két Anaal Nathrakh vagy két Impaled Nazarene lemez között hosszú hónapokra meglesz az elfoglaltságom, ha ki akarom élni ebbéli szélsőséges hajlamaimat, és persze ha a világvége, szenvedés, pusztulás, vagy káosz címszavak mentén lenne kedvem valami talpalávalóhoz! A szemfülesebbek kiszúrhatták hogy a cím mozaikszavakat tartalmaz, amik kiadják az 'Earth' szót! kifejezetten ötletes és passzol is ehhez a koncepcióhoz, én bírom az ilyesmit!

Szóval röviden a lényegre térve, huszonhárom hol egy kicsit hosszabb, hol rövidebb nótát kapunk kerek háromnegyed órában, amik általában egy és két perces játékidő között mozognak, a lemez végén egy Phobia feldolgozással (Rise Up!) zárva a sort, ami azért sokatmondó abban a tekintetben, hogy mégis miről lehet szó, ugyanis az amerikai undeground grindcore legenda feltétlenül az egyik nagy hőse lehet a srácoknak! Az introként működő He Who Eats His Tale-t követő huszonkét pokoljárás mindegyike megkapó, megjegyezhető riffekkel és dallamokkal megtűzdelt atomtámadás. Egyébként messze nem vegytiszta grindcore a zene, sőt, hol a legutolsó lemezes Impaled Nazarene-re hajazó egyszerűbb punkosabb ritmusokra, hol egy klasszikusabb gitárszólóra, hol az útjából mident eltakarító modernebb death és thrash metalos megoldásokra kaptam fel a fejemet, mindamellett hogy a black metál vészjóslő, bűzös szele is végigvonul a szerzeményeken! Talán még a holland God Dethroned zenei világa ami közel áll a Sectorial-éhoz, sőt olyannyira, hogy az Impaled Nazarene és Anaal Nathrakh mellett egyértelműen őhozzájuk lehet hasonlítani a E.A.R.T.H-ön hallható zenét.

Nem hiszem hogy különösebben ragozható vagy magyarázható lenne a dolog, de szerintem más nem fontos a lemezzel és a zenekarral kapcsolatban, csak annyi, hogy ismét egy színvonalas ultraviolence albummal lett gazdagabb a világ. Mivel sok zenekar ebbéli próbálkozása csap át primitív, fülsértő, kaotikus csapkodásba, így érdemes az ukrán Sectorial lemezét megbecsülni, ugyanis nagyon nem egyszerű ebben a szélsőséges stílusban egy ennyire koherens, élvezhető, sokszor elővehető és nehezen megunható zenével előállni...nos, ebben a tekintetben jelenleg csak a finn nukleáris kivégzőbrigád, valamint V.I.T.R.I.O.L-ék tekinthetőek jobbnak, viszont nem annyival, hogy ne érdemelne a Sectorial is egy kimagasló pontszámot! A Grindcore-t, vagy a szélsőségesen erőszakos zenéket kevésbé komálóknak sem feltétlenül kell a lomtár örök bitmezeire küldeni a lemezt ha esetleg belefutnának valahol, ugyanis dallamossága, punkossága és az emészthető vokálmegoldásai miatt messze nem csak az erős idegzetűek tudnak majd vele megbírkózni!

Одними из таковых являются украинские брутальщики Sectorial. Их самое новое творение "Erase And Reborn Of Humanity" только с виду кажется "западническим" — все песни они исполнили на своем украинском языке. Правда, тексты переведены и на английский, но это скорее для того, чтобы иностранцы смогли понять, что все-таки происходит.

Сам альбом представляет собой совершенно дикую смесь самых разных музыкальных жанров, экстремальных и не очень. Тут вам и смесь дэт-металл и дэткора с совершенно невообразимой скоростью ударных, как у Emeth, и гроулом в духе Cannibal Corpse и Dimension Zero, и грайндкор с панковским настроем и короткими, иногда меньше минуты, песнями (привет, Napalm Death), и немного протяжного блэк-металлического чеса, и даже фолковые вставки с флейтой — еще бы, братья-славяне ведь. Песня "Flaw of Law" вообще похожа на паган-металл. И со всей этой мешанины ребятам удалось создать 20 очень четких песен, без намека на жанровую неопределенность. Диск, выражаясь гастрономическими сравнениями, очень хорошо идет. Правда, чтобы мозг за что-то зацепился, придется послушать его 3-4 раза, поскольку смена треков происходит безо всякого предупреждения, производя еще больший хаос.

Отдельно хочется отметить не только исполнительское мастерство и неистовый напор музыки Sectorial, но и то, что все опусы объединены одной тематической линией и посвящены нашей родной планете и природе в частности. Довольно интересный ход для откровенно экстремальной группы — из ближайших ассоциаций на ум приходят только дэт-экологи Gojira. В связи с этим, спешу расстроить любителей расчлененки, медицинских отклонений и прочих патологоанатомов-любителей — ловить вам тут нечего.

Итог таков: "Erase And Reborn The Humanity" — очень качественная и сильная работа, которая выгодно оттеняет украинский коллектив на фоне прочих представителей брутальных жанров. Мощно, качественно, правда, местами слишком лаконично, но смело можно назвать альбом выдающимся. На мой взгляд, если при аналогичном хронометраже диска из 20 треков сделать 10, это будет вообще что-то с чем-то. Хотя лучшее, как говорится, враг хорошего.

А то ситуація з грайнд-кором у нас нагадує приказку: «При всьому багатстві вибору — вибрати нічого». Ось тут-то, якраз, і знадобляться хлопці з Київської області. На відміну від більшості грайндовий груп, творчість SECTORIAL цілком можна оцінити музично — пісні забійні, лірика соціальна, українською мовою, звук переконливий. Деякий подив викликає використання народних інструментів, і не потрібно звинувачувати нас у зайвій консервативності і не здатності оцінити новаторський підхід хлопців з SECTORIAL, якби замість флейти у третій композиції губна гармоніка, в четвертій або в п'ятій арфа, ми б також задалися питанням: «Навіщо? ». Втім, резонно припустити, що наші товариші, таким чином, хотіли підкреслити свої національні корені. Тут 22 пісні на 44 хвилини, плюс килим на американців PHOBIA на закуску. Що ще потрібно?

Tot nog toe werden er drie eigen beheer EP’s uitgebracht: ‘Cerebrum Necrosis Est In It Nobis’ (2008), ‘Boiler’ (2009) en ‘Controlled Insane’ (2009). Nu debuteert de groep met ‘Erase And Reborn The Humanity’ via Metal Scrap Records. Misschien ken je het label reeds van releases van Crusher, Voice Of Midnight, Ram-Page, maar misschien ook niet.

‘E.A.R.T.H.’ is een no-nonsense verfrissend death metal album geworden dat 22 eigen composities bevat plus een cover van Phobia’s ‘Rise Up!’ Dit is grindcore met een creepy emotieloze draai die me meermaals deed denken aan Brutal Truth’s ‘Extreme Conditions…’ en Impaled Nazarene’s ‘Ugra Karma’ CD’s. Ik geloof dat er slechtere referenties te verzinnen zijn. De kers op de Sectoriale slagroom is echter de integratie van een fluit of panfluit in hun muziek en daar moet je van houden. Ik persoonlijk walg er van maar Gheorge Zamfir fans mogen met een gerust hart 25 punten bij het eindcijfer optellen. Origineel is het in elk geval wel!

In una parola: Sectorial. La formazione ucraina attiva dal 2007 con tre ep, "Cerebrum Necrosis Est It In Nobis", "Boiler" e "Controlled Insane" a rappresentarne il bagaglio personale sino al 2009, ha rilasciato nel 2012 il debutto "Erase And Reborn The Humanity", il titolo è abbastanza esplicativo del pensiero che alimenta il flusso energico a tratti strampalato della proposta del combo di Kyyiv.

Ventitré pezzi, quasi quarantacinque minuti complessi di durata e una sequela di schiaffi in faccia che non si fa di certo pregare nel darli, questo è ciò che presentano, non vi è una particolare originalità nell'esporre il metal estremo e battente a più riprese che attinge da più territori cibandosi anche di pulsioni "crust", le minuzie folcloristiche che adornano i brani di estensione maggiore vedasi "Too Much?" nella quale ci si trova a confrontarsi con l'intrusione divertita del flauto e dello "scacciapensieri", il silvestre strumentale "Before The Silence Come" con il flauto accompagnato da "rumori" quali il cinguettio degli uccelli e "Stolen Word" nel quale ancora una volta si ripresentano connotazioni similari al primo dei tre episodi citati, offrono una variante all'espressione di violenza comunque tutt'altro che statica ma alquanto derivativa.
Vi sono brani più scuri e dirompenti "Viva Nature" sembra in parte uscita da una release black e sullo stampo andante del death annerito polacco si espandono le note di "Internal Enemy", fra esse si frappone "The Unknown" che invece tira fuori passaggi che potrebbero chiamare in causa fra i tanti il nome Disfear. Dopo uno o più ascolti sarà palese quanto formazioni quali Napalm Death e Agatochles abbiano inciso sul sound dei Sectorial, di come non si risparmino le vangate in stile "mordi e fuggi" piazzando "The Exhausted", "Stones Have A Vote" e "Rushing Ahead" che insieme non raggiungono i due minuti e mezzo e di quanto i testi abbiano un chiaro legame con ciò che il nostro mondo sta affrontando attualmente ma includano anche temi che da secoli ci fanno "roteare i satelliti" vedasi la lampante "Religion – Business" e qual è il modo più adatto per chiudere un platter? Gli ucraini hanno puntato su di una cover.
La canzone prescelta è "Rise Up" dei sottovalutatissimi e storici grinder statunitensi Phobia dell'album "22 Random Acts Of Violence" che calza loro a pennello.
I Sectorial sono una band professionale, potranno magari pagar pegno nel caso ci si volesse fissare sulla mancanza di originalità ma chi lo è realmente al giorno d'oggi? Una prova come quella insita "Erase And Reborn Humanity" caratterizzata da una efficacissima esecuzione sia in ambito corale che nel singolo strumento con apprezzamento, e non di poco, nei confronti del drumming terrificante messo in atto da Igor Kovalenko e valorizzata da una produzione "di confine" cioè capace di far convivere una discreta dose di pulizia con rimasugli di sporco che la rendono viva, è ciò che potrebbe far pendere l'ago della bilancia a loro favore nel momento in cui vi decidiate dopo vari passaggi nello stereo se acquistare o meno il disco.
Mentre voi ci pensate un po' su, io me lo risparo al volo e sono certo che il mio vicino sarà "ultra contento" di tale scelta (schiamazzi, urla contro ed epiteti vari in mode on).

Una follia, un atto estremo, una pazzia? Nulla di ciò, sono soltanto gli ucraini Sectorial, band attiva da qualche anno, prolifica, ma con soli EP e singoli realizzati, prima di giungere a questi tempestosi pezzi che compongono l’album di debutto. Suonano un legame tra grindcore, thrash metal e (tanto) crust, c’è anche un pizzico di altre soluzioni estreme del metal, ma ad ascoltarli nei primi pezzi in scaletta, le parti grindcore ricordano subito i Napalm Death. I Sectorial non danno però l’idea di adagiarsi su modelli altrui e di conseguenza le proprie cavalcate diventano furiose missive, devastanti annunci di catastrofi imminenti. I pezzi sono brevi, eppure ne nasce qualcosa di più corposo, come i quasi 5′ di “Stolen World” (dove subentra anche un flauto inaspettato, tra le distorsioni e i colpi della batteria) o i quasi 4′ di “Too Much?” (altra canzone dove nell’intermezzo black metal spunta qualche strumento folclorico). Il canovaccio compositivo è dunque questo: sparare raffiche violente, scatenate dal drumming (perfetto il lavoro di Igor “Reich” Kovalenko dietro le pelli) e dal guitarworking che, come si è già indicato, sfrutta alcuni modelli estremi del metal. Per nulla originali i Sectorial, ma se c’è da frantumare ogni cosa e annichilire l’ascoltatore allora sanno davvero essere dei campioni.

Slavic band Sectorial shows off out of the blue a blend between grindcore and folk music. I mean, a friend said there is a band that did it before, but I don’t believe it’s in the same shape of these Ukrainian lads!

The album is noisy, with brass-knuckled attacks of fulminant grind/hardcore and chaos runs rampant! The production is very well-made with all the instruments appearing but with the right dosage of filthiness required in a band like this.

But although, in the basis, they stick to traditional grindcore blueprints, the folk elements with even some parts of black metal are weird! Just imagine Napalm Death with Nokturnal Mortum (mainly from the album Nechrist)

The songs are short- with few exceptions- and after the intro He Who Eats the Tale, the fracas of Cage with no Limits pervades the ambience with very short phrases and dissonant (but never discordant) thrumming. Let the mosh pit burn!

Songs like The Exhaust (52 seconds), Stones Have a Vote (19 seconds) or Rushing Ahead (a frantic atomic strike the will nettle even the deaf) are too fast to be kept in the long-term memory and then retrieved, but that’s the intention with other grindcore attacks by the middle of the album.

But on songs like Too Much and Stolen Word (with the most memorable riff of the album, indeed, the best song), the punkish riffage hybridises with folk instrumentation and even a Jew's harp is perceived by the middle of the former song. There are even folkish interludes like the three-minute-long Before the Silence Come, with the chirping of birds and flutes from the past. Kind of anticlimactic for a grindcore CD, but interesting to say at least.

There are more highlights like Religion-Business and its singalong eponymous chorus and the closer, Rise Up!, a cover of a band called Phobia, and its gummy refrain, “rise up, your self-esteem”…

Flaw of the Law is another one which shows their Cruachan-esque side with a Napalm Death/Agathocles mix-up.

Erase and Reborn Humanity won’t disappoint grinders out there, and as long as far as I'm concerned, they have originality and a sense of how to invite the listeners to go to a gig of theirs. I for one would kill myself in the mosh pit. Bruises guaranteed or your money back!

1. Can you tell us a little bit about the band for those that have never heard of you before?

Greetings to readers! Band lives for almost 10 years. This is the only serious one, we have ever played in. Ivan (Vocal, native instruments) and Igor (drums) and other 2 guys was a classmates, so they were standing at the origins of what we do now. After some time Dmitriy (guitar, vocal) connected to the band and the last brick in our foundation was Boris (bass, vocal). Because of many reasons we managed to release 3 EP albums and 1 LP, but have played hundred of gigs all over Ukraine and Russia. But those reasons have made us much more stronger then we would like to be)). So hard work at ourselves and plenty of obstacles are not last points in the establishment of the band ideology.

2. How would you describe your musical sound?

There is big difference in how we see our sound and how people see it. Igor: I would like to give everything to hear my and the whole band playing from aside. So we make a audio & video recording of each gig or important rehearsal and try to look at our work from aside. It’s good for excluding the mistakes too. Try, it really helps. As for style frames we should say that we are not critics, so don`t want to take their job)). We do all we like and no matter how it’s called. You can find grind, crust, thrash, hardcore, black and death metal, etc. in a combination with our native folk so it was hard to write tags to our new release. We have very critical attitude to the track production and if we would think about style, genre or something we will go crazy for sure. 3. What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the music?

People are in rights to make own decisions. These perverted decisions are subjects and reasons for our music mostly. World is full of shit and sweets — we can see it and enjoy or moan with closed eyes. Mankind is not a crown of nature; we all have too much work to do. We are not teachers or accusing one`s but if someone will be motivated to improve himself by our deeds it would be "epic win" for us totally.

4. What is the meaning and inspiration behind the band’s name?

Sectorial — is a containing part of any whole one, like microcosm in Macrocosm. In our band each member is separate unit, another world and our band`s deeds combine them into something really native for us. Maybe in other case we would never be friends but music and all what we do together makes some kind of family. From tiny split to big happiness — all is in Sectorial`s ethos.

5. What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and how would you describe your stage performance?

Igor: Actually I don`t divide into the best or worst show. Anyway after the show, when everything is over, emotions and energy are being sorbet by your body and mind, you are driving home with one only thing. It`s experience. The only one thing which differ true musician from a pretender. As for me when you have some unexplained connection with a fans — that`s a good show, other shit is technical moments.

6. Do you have any touring plans for the new release?

Sure, our first LP are ready to see the world. We have confirmed about 10 gigs all over Ukraine and other is TBA at the moment. But I know that it would be Russia, maybe Belorussia. As for Europe — we don`t have any direct relationships with booking managers. But we`ve made anything that depends on us — own big bus, totally equipped road backline and possibility for crossing a borders. 7. On a worldwide level how has your music been received by underground metal fans worldwide?

Without any kind of epic, there is a rule — any new club we played in soon send us an invitation or we have some other possibilities to come back there and our new friends there are happy. We are well known as a live band, so the last LP was only an attempt to bring all energy of the live show to CD. Hope it will become a good tradition for the next visiting of new place. As for audio — many people like the way we use native instruments in hard music. We think that everyone may find his own in our works, question is — does he really need it now? We even have a fan in friends; he is Aghori prophet and live in Spain. His "religion" seems quite strange for many peoples, but we don`t care. His name is Bhairavananda and he really enjoyed our stuff. So the first single "Too Much?" before LP "E.A.R.T.H." is Aghori meditation soundtrack now. People get in touch with our audio and video on popular social networks, YouTube mostly. We have official band site www.sectorialband.com under construction at the moment.

8. Currently you are signed to Metal Scrap Records; how did you get in contact with this label and how would you describe the support that they have given you so far?

Our good friends from Crusher band have already released their debut work with Metal Scrap. So as we decided to make a common tour with them the decision came quick. Situation with music promotion is not simple today, no serious business on that — no serious propositions. All is kept by people who love this and believe in what they do. Label`s support is on high level, everything goes clear and distinctly. It`s really important, no matter what you do. We keep contact with Anatoliy and have a best regards for him. So our music and merch will be available for underground metal fans worldwide thanks to Anatoliy and Metal Scrap Records.

9. Are there any other projects besides this band or is this full time line up?

No, there are no other projects. Sure some of us have helped some bands, but it was totally trial playing. We like to jam and it’s enough for us.

10. What direction do you see your music heading into on future releases?

Its hard question. The clearest answer is — we don`t know))). Sure it would be hard and fast tempo energetic and atmospheric music, but we can`t outline any frames of it now. As we`ve spoken before — if we will be rocked by own stuff and will believe in it we will surely rock our fans. Genre direction is important but not so as the true portray that comes from the inside.

11. What are some bands or musical styles that have influenced your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

Our music tastes are very wide. From new age and classics to hard stuff we don`t have any icons. There are too many bands with good music to enumerate. In different time some of them made influence on our music and some of them were passing by.

12. Does Satanism or Occultism play any role in the music?

No, we leave it to people who have more time for this. For the rest we have created track "Religion — Business". It`s fun to look at the bands with all of this "pure evil" symbols. Those who really deal with this are doing real things.

13. Outside of music what are some of your interests?

Needless to say that the music doesn`t feed us. So Ivan and Igor work at music company, selling all kind of music instruments and equipment. Boris is raising IT-stuff in international IT-company. And Dmitriy in several months will finish his studying for sociologist. Igor: as for me my interests outside of music is closely related to the music. I love drums, fixing, tuning and watching. I love big cars so they can transport a lot of my drums and so on. There was a time when I was sleeping for 4-5 hours and the rest time was working or playing. Great moments! Ivan: in some cases so do I. I find myself in self doing and playing on native instruments. Like to lift my body and press up for better feeling yourself. Anyway we have some thin clue which unites each member and band ideology in whole. It`s self-evolution. We think that a man is a man only when he is going to the point. Motion defines our consciousness. When you don`t make any moves you are not standing at one place, your losing, falling as time goes quick.

14. Any final words or thoughts before we wrap up this interview?

Drums range from mid paced to fast drumming with a great amount of blast beats being thrown into the music, while the bass playing has a very strong and powerful tone with grinding riffs that dominate throughout the recording, as for the flutes which are only utilized briefly on a couple of songs they give the music mid 60's feeling, in addition there are some sound effects and folk instruments being used on certain songs of this recording.

Rhythm guitars range from mid paced to fast riffing that combines black metal, thrash, grind and crustcore together to create a sound of it owns, while the lead guitars are very chaotic sounding crustcore/metal guitar solos and leads.

Vocals are mostly blackened/death metal screams and growls that are heavily influenced by crust and thrash with some samples from movies being used on some songs, while the lyrics hateful, anti religion and everyday themes as for the production it has a very strong, heavy and powerful sound to it.

In my opinion Sectorial are a very great sounding black/thrash/grind/crustcore hybrid and if you are a fan of this style, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "He Who Eats The Tale" "Passing By" "Internal Enemy" and "Religion-Business". RECOMMENDED BUY.

Sectorial Release “Erase And Reborn The Humanity” 

Ukrainian thrash metal/grindcore merchants Sectorial have released their debut album “Erase And Reborn The Humanity” via native Metal Scrap Records. The album was recorded at Blacklight Studio in Kiev and comprises of 23 tracks (including a cover of Phobia’s “Rise Up!”), combining grind\crust\thrash metal with Ukrainian native instruments like the Jew harps, whistle, overtone flute and fujara.

The band’s guitarist and vocalist Dmitriy Vashchenko issued Zero Tolerance with the following statement: “As Sectorial is like microcosm in Macrocosm, each part, each player of the band is totally separate unit, which is a competent element of Sectorial’s deeds. After the ‘Controlled Insane’ EP, which we self-released back in 2009 and decided to consider it as a starting point for our next job, we definitely knew that the next one will be a full-length CD. Considering all experience that we earned from our earlier works the decision was to make a new one as ‘live’ as possible but without any compromise in the sound department. E.A.R.T.H. is our first attempt to bring the energy of our conviction, thoughts and feelings through to the listener. Our work is dedicated to strong young men and women who are in search for a better life and haven’t lost the ability to think for themselves. The album got it’s name after one of the elements, nature sectorials – EARTH. Simply all tracks are about our home and the way we live here”.
